Background
CT-3900, nicknamed "Cutter" was a Clone trooper in the Grand Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars. He was a clone of the bounty hunter Jango Fett created and trained on the planet Kamino and served the 501st legion.

In some point of 19 BBY, by the time of the Outer Rim Sieges, Cutter and several other clones joined the new 17th company, which included some clones from both 501st and 212th Attack Battalion. The company was placed under the command of a young reptilian-Renov officer, Captain Zack Picolo, whom Cutter had befriended. As a part of honoring they commanding officer, the clones customized they helmets whir green color and was soon nicknamed "Picolo Company".

The company took part of the Second battle of Klono V, in order to retake Zack's homeworld. During the battle in the City of Oruno, Zack lead his clone squad behind enemy lines, where they took down a line of cannons to create an opening to Republic forces, and destroyed the tactical droid commanding the Separatist forces. After the victory, Zack was celebrated as "Hero of Klono V" and Grand Duke Samir II, ruler of the Renov species, arrived to reward him and his clones with medals. Sometimes after the liberation of Klono V, However, the company was disbanded. While in Coruscant, Zack had an incident with Admiral Tarkin, as a result of which he had hit Tarkin directly in the chin and then disappeared. As a result, Zack was expelled from the Loyalist and Republic army, and the clones return they original units. However, Cutter kept the fox squirrel's paw in his helmet.

Cutter later was reassigned to the 332nd Company, a company within the newly created 332nd Division of the 501st Legion. When Zack and former Jedi Ahsoka Tano returned and met with her former teacher and friend Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi to discuss a joint operation between the Republic and the Mandalore resistance, Cutter was one of many clone troopers who customized their helmets in a stylized version of Tano's face and markings. With Tano and Picolo as an advisor, newly promoted Commander Rex led Republic forces in the Siege of Mandalore against renegade Sith Lord Maul and the Shadow Collective, which controlled the planet from the city of Sundari.

During the final push of the Mandalorian super commandos, Cutter was badly wounded in the battle by the Mandalorian warrior named Oruko, who was later killed by Zack. The battle soon ended with a Republic/Mandalorian resistance victory, and Cutter was transfer to heel in the Venator-class Star Destroyer Archangel, which stay aboard Mandalore, while the fleet's flagship, the Tribunal, set out for Coruscant to deliver Maul to the Jedi High Council, aboard whit Ahsoka, Rex and Zack. The ship later disappeared during the Order 66.
