Another drawing from my most recent video, which you can watch right over here in case you missed it!

This is another drawing that’s only on-screen for a couple seconds. Once again, I felt that inserting a raw meme into the vid would stick out like a sore thumb, so instead I redrew it to better match the subject matter. In this case I was describing how, during my time collecting research data in Splatoon 3, I wasn’t allowed to encounter any repeat players. This meant I could not stick w/ any of the teams I was assigned for more than 1 match, even if we were synergizing w/ each other really well. So glad I don’t have to do that anymore; it also felt kinda jerk-ish to have to ditch a team if our 1 match was a loss ;w;

Art-wise, I hashed this one out pretty fast. I knew that as long as I kept the text & poses recognizable then viewers would be able to comprehend it pretty quickly, even w/ its short screen-time. Relating to that, I also stuck w/ a relatively simple color scheme of blue & orange. This served a couple of different purposes. First, it keeps the characters & background distinct from each other. Second, it ties all 4 characters together as being on the same team. Third, a full color drawing would likely have too much information for a viewer to parse quickly in the few seconds it’s shown in the video.

Of course, even w/ all that there will probably still be viewers who’ll need to pause or rewind to fully grok it, & that’s perfectly fine! That’s just the beauty of modern technology, I suppose~
