Step 2 is a step that I skip in a large bulk of my pictures xD

Step 4 involves trying different shades of oranges/brownish colours for Muffy and Taka so that their colours complement each other. I read somewhere (a fanart from a particular artist but I forgot where) that Muffy's and Taka's pelt colours are in fact quite similar if you mix it right. I found this concept very fascinating. Every time I draw the pair together, I keep that in mind and I still find it fascinating each time I find the right mix. Their colours are very similar.

(You may notice that the steps here aren't exactly the same for this screencap [link] and that's because I don't follow the same formula exactly for each picture. It depends on the picture. Having said this, the 'Mighty Explorers' screencap reflects the order of steps that I use more commonly than the 'Death' screencap.)
