So after you merge the meshes what about the parenting of the separate armatures?

i just add 2 or more armature modifiers...and parent armatures...
example...the hair has its own armature...i parent the hair armature to the bone of the head of the main body armature...the add armature modifier on the mesh for the hair...im not sure if i explained it well but its something like that...haha...also im not sure if its advisable to use multiple armatures...so if possible i just use 1 armature with different layers for body,ik,hair,skirt,etc...
