Hey kids!
Another Blender tutorial for ya, this one on the Array modifier, specifically for spinning something around an Empty. Let me know if I jacked something up or left anything out, I still have GIMP open
EDIT: All that stuff about the pieces getting stacked, if you move and size your petal in Edit mode, you don't have to worry about it, it will array perfectly. If you accidentally move it in Object mode, then that part still applies.

I don't know why I didn't think of using the array/empty approach to this. I was using the mirror modifier and kept screwing it up. Thanks for reminding me about this technique. As always, V, YOU ROCK!!

Awesome tutorial and im sure it will help many people! Im sorry that some people are jackass's and have to post rude negative stuff on other peoples hard work! The bottom line is that You can and do make great stuff and I think that its very nice of you to share your knowledge with every one here at

Yeah, brush it off, Vicky. Your work is always awesome. Some people just refuse to admit that creative art uses ideas and techniques borrowed from all sorts of sources. Every artist does it, whether they want to fess up to it or not. I mean, look at photography. Do we call every photographer who takes closeup photos of flower buds, or the countless numbers of painters who do canvas paintings of Jesus dying on the cross, copycats? Of course not. These are simply fellow artists who like a certain concept and want to try to come up with their own work based on that idea. Unfortunately, when someone uses a style or technique similar to someone else's, sometimes the original artist acts juvenile and gets jealous and fails to realize that they should be happy that someone appreciated their style enough to do something similar.

This is exactly what I needed, but the tutorial on Tufts University site was no help because something had changed since an earlier version of Blender.
I needed it to model a part for my diesel locomotive model for my upcoming animation.
