Excellent tutorial! I learned that having blender set into texture mode is an awesome way of previewing things before you render. It also helps with the visualization of your scene. Thanks!

Hi Vicky ! As Blender beginner I learned a lot with this interesting tut. For the two lights I chose blue and brown, but in the final rendering only the blue color appeared !!! Horizon color was black. Thanks for all your interesting informations.Β

If you mean the view in the first screenshot, yes, that is top view (7 on the numpad). Doesn't matter what version you use, it works in all of them. Thanks very much for the compliments, I really appreciate it!

thanks for your tutorial...sadly I can;t even find the windows for the camera set up as an absolute beginner to Blender!

All of the various panels are opened with T = left menu, N = sounds like the one you want, and shift+spacebar to close or open the properties

This is super awesome! I always liked 3D software like Blender, even used it on the job to (very simple) visualize something, but I never really got behind all those nifty little tricks like for example how to make a simplistic (not saying simple because it sure is not) abstract render that does not have to communicate a function but just nice to look at forms and colors. Also a well written quick tutorial like this is always appreciated.
