Yes, any shape works. Just start making a silhouette without thinking to much, the most important stuff is when you are filling the tree with leaves. Keep in minds these things:
- You must leave some spaces in between to give it more dept,
- Choose areas for the lot of leaves and position to give the leaves some perspective. (Angle view)
- Finally make a huge effort on color contrast and blending!
