Very good tutorial. I feel like I learned something. Shame I don't have a DSLR to test this theory out though.

I love it! Now I might have a use for my macro filters! I can stop taking photos of my kittens before I become a crazy cat lady and now take a whole bunch of macro shots to cover up my crazy cat lady ways!

I used to adore waterdrop!flower shots but nowadays, its hard to find macro petal photos that *don't* include droplets. I find myself more interested in the play of colors between the petals and background that the water, which tends to pull attention away from them.
Still, it's interesting to know how people usually achieve that photo

Simple and to the point. That's how tutorials should always be.
But you don't necesarily need a DSLR to take macro photos. My macros are taken with a Canon PowerShot with a Raynox macro lens attached, and that's a point and shoot camera.

I think it's better to start with a simple camera and then move to the DSLRs. I still need to buy one, but I'll have to leave that for much later as I have to save money for other things that are priority now.

I most certainly will! Although the only problem I have is knowing if it's macro or miniature. I have a digital camera that has the macro settings on it, but when I posted the photo here as macro, it was moved to another category. I also have a Pentax K1000 and three lenses that I've yet to learn how to use, and I've had it over a year. It's all my own phobia on learning a new apparatus! lol
I have tried getting in touch with the macro director for help, but no answer yet. I was so discouraged that I ended up removing over 80 photographs that were under macro.
I know, bad move. But it's all good. I plan on putting them back up, although this time around I am putting them on my ~AlexanderWolffe account.
