Inspired by the RTS game called: Planetary Annihilation.

Realistically, there's no way to stop the inertia of an object that size... but let's assume anyone capable of such madness must have the technology to negate inertia.

But for something that size you would either need a lot or some very powerful Gravitational tech.
Given the Death Star had to stop somehow when it exits Hyperspace i'm betting that kind of tech is present there so it may be possible
