Description
A border I've been working on for my larger fish picture. I understand the colors are EXTREMELY bright, but it's just an experiment..I would like some major feedback on this as it is an experiment and I'm really not sure if it's the final design I want to use. Thanks.
It's also the first thing i've ever done completely digitally.

It’s a beautiful pattern.
However
There are too many colors
And the shapes on the side are much bolder then the middle one
But I don’t know much about patterns so maybe that doesn’t count
You are good at making patterns digitally.

There's a particular style with some knotwork artists, where every time the lines cross, they change colors. I'm not real happy with the way it looks just like this, but I think i hit the style. It will be changed in the picture..

I like it, and the bright colors are fantastic. It is fun to experiment.
I cant wait to see it around the other art work. I am new at doing
drawings and such digital.......I am way more traditional, although
i do graphic design which helps in a way but not much...they are
so much of different mediums. How did you do this, with amouse
or do you have a pad??

My husband has a wacom tablet, and I did the big designs, such as the circles and such with the mouse, but do the little work with the pen and tablet. I was really going for a Fitzpatrick feel for it.

I just got a pen and tablet, it is really so hard for me to manipulate. To be honest I don't know what a Fizpatrick feel is. *I would love to learn and understand* Feels silly not knowing..lol

NP.. LOL, I don't think many people would. He's a celtic artist that I just fell in love with when I was 9. My Mom bought me a big colorful book called "The Book of Conquests" without really knowing what was in it to keep me quiet in church. I still have it. It's a gaelic oral tradition regarding the coming of the Tuatha De Danann, (I just wish she hadn't cut the nudity out of the pages.. I need to get a copy without the missing pages because she cut two pages of the story out as well), and he was really big in the 1970's with his really brightly colored neo-knotwork.

He actually has a website where you can view all his stuff. [link]
He does do amazing stuff and I guess you could say he instilled the knotwork bug in me.

Cool border - though depends what you are going to use it for. If you are putting it with something plaer, the border will overwhelm the image. Put it with something bright so they are equal or something. Good work, expecially considering its your first digital piece .

Actually, it's going to be paired with somehting much darker.. I hope. If it looks right once I'm done. Thanks.

Oh, that colour scheme is just awesome! They look like they should be decorative tiles... er, seeing as you want it to be the border for your fish, it looks like it would go well considering the colours/design provide a good balance by complimenting it. Are you planning on colouring your fish?

yes, actually I am. With the same kind of broken color blocks, but solid backgrounds. We'll have to see how it turns out, but it's really the first thing I've done where I can see the finished product in my head.

I really like it! For some reason, I thought of it as something that should decorate the outside of an art store - heh. I really like the colors, and the way you segmented each knot is striking!

The colors don't look that bright to me..... but I don't have a good eye for color. The texture is really well done. It really fits the whole pic. It doesn't look digital, doesn't look overdone. It's all very eye-catching.

Thanks! I know that technically, they're not bright, but they are for me. I don't generally go for multiple colors.

You know, he is to me too, but I don't always like everything to have a 3-d look to it. Illahie's stuff really speaks to me, almost more so than BWS. If that makes any sense.

I like the 3D approach more, I think it gives it a little more deapth. To each his own I guess
