Every year I go to G-Fest and overhear those "fan conversations" where they talk about the movies in the franchise they love, and 90% of the time I hear the same looping comments about how much they absolutely hate Final Wars, that it's a "travesty" to the series, brainless, etc. I will READILY admit it's a flawed movie and silly as all hell, but you know what I absolutely LOVE about Final Warrs?Well, among other things, bloody ANGUIRUS, my spirit animal incarnate, finally back again for the first time in the franchise since 1974 (not counting stock footage). That alone was a major booster point for me, as well as all the other Showa characters that showed up in it. And the design KILLED. Absolutely killed it (though I miss the tusk teeth and the longer nose horn but those are MINOR gripes).
So anyway, long winded rambling aside, love my boy Anguirus.

Anguirus is my favourite monsters too, so it was great to see him in Final Wars! Final Wars is completely over the top, and daft, but it was great to see some of the old monsters again!

The last time you commented on one of my pictures was to tell me you thought I did a really bad job drawing that version of the character, so honestly I'm gonna pass. Final Wars Godzilla isn't one of my favorite designs anyway, sorry dude.

While Final Wars is not my favorite of the G Films even I'll admit that it was a fun ride though I was kinda sad that Hedorah only got 30 seconds of screen time
While I really not a fan of Anguirus' design in the movie (the tail and armored shoulder look on his legs are awesome)
My biggest gripe was the snout tusks and horn like you said and his body looked a bit too portly for my liking
But the Spike ball attack kicks ass!

I was just super happy to see the old Showa crew back again, lots of other areas of the film may have been lacking but it was nice of Kitamura to favor the old school so much. The exception was Kaizer Ghidorah, the design suffered on that one so much because of the time and budget crunch. I probably forgive many little things too easily because I was so happy to see them all, I've heard fans gripe about Seesar's buggy eyes on his costume but that never bothered me either, I was just too overjoyed to see him again.

Kaizer Ghidorah was pretty much the weakest element in movie he looked like a giant deformed fetus with skin that looks like burned bock-choy.
Ceasar's eyes looked a bit too buggy for me (personally love to jewelled eye golem look for him)

awesome picture and yes not the greatest g film but not the worst could of been better but a new take on the " soccer fight " instead of a rock it was Anguris ^^

Thank you! I just take the film for the big enjoyable ball of cheese that it is, because for every somber and dark G film there just seems to be a need to balance it out with a fun, silly one. It's kind of what makes me love the series so much I think, it covers its bases very well.

Always thought the updated design was great for Anguirus. Especially the tail.

If what I read was accurate they supposedly cannibalized the Destroyah adult costume's tail for Anguirus in this one, which makes me sad to think they wrecked the suit for it but honestly yeah it really turned out great.
