I sort of thought he was going to throw her head into the city when it was blown off. Unfortunately my crowd was sort of silent the whole movie. Just a mild chuckle when the kid was watching Godzilla fight the Muto in Hawaii.
But I like the movie and I love the ending. Cheese and all with the King of the Monsters. Probably will go back Monday when I am off of work and go to a matinee.
Got to tell you, the music grew on me though. I hated that thing like 4 days ago. But seeing it in the film...I can see how it worked. The Godzilla theme sort of reminds me of the American score that started the Godzilla Raids Again movie.

A good crowd really can help make a movie, honestly, it's why I'll always look back fondly on Pac Rim, massive enthusiasm. As for the score, yeah it definitely worked in context to the movie, but on its own I was pretty disappointed in most of it....the main theme is fine, but the rest is pretty characterless in my opinion. Not a huge deal, honestly, it is what it is but I've been annoyed and amused at the backlash I've received from butthurt fanboys over my review of the soundtrack over at Amazon. Anything less than a stellar, flowering review apparently deserves scorn and condescending nonsense. Yeah. Never been a fan of the fanboy elite set. Kinda sucks all the fun out of something you love, but not in this case, I guess, I enjoyed the movie too much to let the trollish types get me down. Long live the king

This part was hella epic, everyone in the theater was like "oohhhhhhhhhh!" and I squeeled through te whole movie. Glad the parasitic mother got put down hard like that in the most badass way ever.

I'll say this, Godzilla 2014 isn't the best kaiju movie ever, but the ending fight assures it's proper place in the canon. Gotta give GZ cred. He took Kong's signature move and added his own unique spice to it. I can safely say I've never seen that before. (You know, in a Kaiju movie.)

I agree with your overall assessment, it's not a movie that's going to claim a spot in my top ten Godzilla movies or even kaiju as a whole likely, but it was really great where it was strong and I'm very satisfied with it. Lord willing we can enjoy more in future.

It was very satisfying, but what really blew me away? This is the first time the "superhero" Godzilla has truly been done in a way that didn't come off as sci fi children's fodder. He's been an anti-hero in the Japanese films plenty of times when the tone was darker, but a brooding, dark superhero Godzilla has never been done like this, and it was perfectly done. I stand in awe and completely happy that they surprised me with that, and it was so easy. "Let's make Godzilla a predator who hunts animals that are growing too numerous", like a fire in a wild forest. Fantastic.

He reminds me of the 1960s Godzilla. The personality from Ghidorah The Three Headed Monster to Son Of Godzilla. Godzilla; Titan of Terror, Hero By Circumstance. I love it!
I was surprised of the actual tone of the movie we got. Deceptive marketing indeed. The Return of Godzilla x Godzilla 2000 with a coast of 60s Godzilla.

I'm extremely pleased at the combinations of those elements and the version of his character we got, I only wish we'd gotten to see a little bit MORE of it! XD Oh well, maybe next movie.

What I think When I saw it at 7 pm yesterday, was wow.. Did anyone notice some cameos from other movies? Some actors from the other movies were in the movie. This is the first Time I see Godzilla take a cat nap. 15 years of doing nothing. He put weight on, then fights. He was tired cause he was out of shape. LOL.
