Been a while since I've done one of my little G posters selected at random. The joke is that the last one I pulled out of the hat was Tokyo SOS. This time.....no lie, the randomizer selected Final Wars. I know there's only 35 movies but the statistical odds of that happening still amuse me.
Since these are usually focused around my favorite scenes or favorite elements of the movies in question, I knew I had to make the main focus the fight at Mt. Fuji, my favorite moment overall of Final Wars because especially as a 19 year old seeing that fight for the first time back in the day it was just so incredibly satisfying to see three of my favorite monsters sharing screentime again, namely the Big G, Rodan and Anguirus. King Caesar was a welcome addition also, but for me the real joy was just having the dinosaur monsters return and get in a good old fashioned cheesy Showa brawl.

Heh, thanks, I have a lot of these posters and intend to do the whole series. There's no Godzilla I hate, but I do have a special place in my heart for Final Wars.

yeah, i really like alot of the godzilla flicks too. but final wars seems the most underrated, and it was the first G-flick i ever watched. it's my favorite, and even though there are more popular godzilla movies, none of them can compare to the film that started my interest in the king of the monsters

I will have seen Godzilla: Final Wars only once and a couple of years ago and although I have not seen it again although this fight scene was one of the most fun I've seen in a monster movie so far.
The piece in general is quite eye-catching, although Mount Fuji is missing in the background, given that the battle took place at the foot of that mountain, XD.

That is a valid point, but most of the shots of the fight didn't feature Fuji in them either so I figured it was a good enough excuse to be lazy XD

Well, perhaps technically Fuji-San appeared in the last part of the scene?
I'm pretty sure it appeared in the last frames.

Great image though. Really solid concept and idea you ran with. This is a film art piece that could easily get over bloated and run away from the artist in a heartbeat. Just so munch stuff that could have been added to it. But you kept it focus and on point. I am surprised you didn't put a little image of Minilla and the old man just in the corner looking on though lol! Still great though man

Heh, thanks, but I had enough of Minya this last week for other reasons XD But you're right, I knew from the outset that the last thing I wanted to do was draw 14 monsters, a frick ton of people and somehow try to make it balance in a horizontal style poster. The theme of these is generally supposed to be "moment" highlights anyway.

I find it interesting you chose the scene where Godzilla has to battle three of his friends, not the final boss being Gigan and Monster X.

Given the choice between Gigan and Monster X or Rodan and Anguirus as the moment highlight it was basically just choosing the scene that had the monsters in it I loved more
