Description My dear pal unagiorange , living in Japan as he does, has always had the advantage on me of seeing new Godzilla movies first when they come out to theaters.  Naturally this included the anime trilogy since they were released in Japanese theaters (this is also why I disregard fans who try to argue that they're not Godzilla "movies" because they were "just" Netflix originals, but I count them as movies 30-32 in the Toho series because of their theater play), and being the generous guy he is he would often pick me up some of the theater merchandise.
Now remember, this was long before the Mechagodzilla City movie came out on Netflix worldwide so until we started getting reports back we didn't know just how....minimal, MechaG's involvement with the movie would actually be, so I got these little items and thought they were pretty cool, expecting to see this mechanical Bayformer of a kaiju in the story, but regardless of the movie's disappointing delivery on the mech these are still pretty neat.  The left and right items are just metal and plastic keychains, but still nicely made, while the center piece is a cut in half model of Mechagodzilla fridge magnet.  I love Japanese theater exclusives and every time I get some for a new Godzilla movie it really makes me wish that more American theaters would have a little shop in them for that purpose.

That MechaGodzilla design looked almost as crappy as Godzilla Earth and Planet Eater Ghidorah. Know what I mean?

It wasn't the designs I had a problem with so much, I like them trying new looks and ideas, but the story was what killed it for me.  They could have done SO MUCH with the futuristic setting and the new ideas they put in there but instead it became endless techno babble, pretentious speeches and a severe lack of kaiju action.  I AT LEAST wanted to see the new Mechagodzilla in action a little bit XD
