Another recent acquisition I bought for myself for my birthday, because yes it's ok to do that as an adult I just figured better to get some stuff for myself rather than expect others to make sense of my kaiju wishlists. This is the Trendmasters Power-Up Mechagodzilla figure, not complete but it's rare to find these figures anymore with all of their accessories intact when they're loose just because it has so much stuff, but I'm glad this came with the crazy looking cannon arm pieces.
The reason I got the figure and the reason it's considered desirable to collectors of Godzilla merch is because of its design. The rest of the Trendmasters Mechagodzilla toys were spot on representations of the mech as it appeared in Mechagodzilla 2, but this one was a little more creative and more closely resembles the design from the Ohrai Noriyoshi painted poster of the movie that was made well in advance of the film that looked more like a sharp, wicked looking version of the Showa robot. The main difference is in the face and the backplates, many of which have a circular hole in the middle. Either way I dig it and honestly was about the last piece of Mechagodzilla merchandise I could think of that I really wanted to complete my set, barring of course any future incarnations of the character in new Godzilla media.
