I'm no comedian
I just wanted to put my Legendary G figure next to the new Skull Island Skull Crawler figure I picked up and see how they looked together. Not too bad, it's like G fighting a giant version of Cubone from Pokemon XD Just two weeks to go on Kong and I'm still plenty enthused about it.

LOL, nice skit. Now I want a skull crawler figure to go with my Godzilla figures lol, and a Kong too! I do honestly like the Skull Crawlers, and I actually hope we see more of them in the future. They call back to the dinosaurs Kong usually fights but are "alien" enough to be their own thing, they SCREAM kaiju, they're like Mosasaurs with legs, kinda reminds me a little of Cryptoclidus and C-Rex from Godzilla the Series, in terms of the skull like face and legs (which is a good thing). I also like how they are basically the "devils" of Skull Island, and that Kong's species are the island's gods and protectors by contrast, AND that Kong's struggle against them is so personal, it elevates them beyond petty rivals to mortal enemies, we KNOW that Crawlers can kill adult Kongs, they can easily return to threaten him again (for all we know, the "Big One" isn't the biggest they can get), and possibly Godzilla himself....Oooo....Godzilla & Kong vs the Skull Crawlers, back to back! I WANT XD

Oh me wants too, I especially liked in Kong that there were so many different sizes of monsters and that they made it clear Kong wasn't done growing. One thing kaiju films are notoriously silly for of course is that no matter how big one monster is the others will basically be the same size because of the needs of having men in suits, but this universe allows at last for some nice wide ranges of scale, which completely opens up to the possibility that the Crawlers have yet to unveil their largest member of the species. Godzilla made me happy, but Kong SKull Island got me EXCITED, the universe is opening up and it's all encouraging.

Absolutely, we've made a joke around here that they must be related to the Pokemon Cubone because of the skull on their faces but honestly I do like the designs and what we've seen of them. Looking forward to seeing them in action on Friday.

I picked up the Skull Crawler set a while ago, and it's an okay set. I wish the Skull Crawler had more articulation, but that is not a HUGE deal if all your going to do is put them on a shelf, but I really hope another, more articulated, Skull Crawler figure will be released some day. I was about to buy the Spider set (Which by the way, has an official name: "Mother Longlegs"), but....SOLD OUT.

Agreed, I was a little heartbroken when I read that NECA wasn't going to be doing any figures based on KSI, because it would have been perfect to put them next to my NECA Goji figures. If the film is a hit I assume Bandai or someone will take a crack at it, but in the meantime I'm actually surprised the existing line looks as good as it does, that toy company seems to only put out those lame cheap soldier toys so given that the monsters don't look all that bad.

You know, these sets are kind of lazy if you look closely. Don't get me wrong, it's a nice set, but you can tell it meant for the kids. Check on the bottom of the Samuel L Jackson toy's foot and the back of the Monarch setup, and see what year the molds are from.
