This confuses me. The Unicron one is... well, in all honesty the most retarded thing I've seen.
I'm no super duper art guy like you; but I like to sya that I have a good eye for design; and the design for that was just terrible...
yours makes sense, looks good; and couple prolly kick some ass....

Out of all of the contest entries I see here (the 10 that made it, and your Grimlock), the only ones I would absolutely LOVE to see are Grimlock, Shockwave, and Unicron, all in their respective contest forms.

Another thing, I just read the story on the sides of the picture, you should really put these on as many blogs as you can. I mean, when they were looking for vehicle forms for the Bots back during the first movie, they printed a bunch of stuff online to get ideas, maybe you can get some these noticed an in the movie plans. Maybe even get a precentage of the profits and merchendising! even .001% of the next movie I am sure would be several thousand dollars!

Uniqueness alone should've gotten this in a place. I mean, the first one on the winners list looks an awful lot like Bumblebee, or maybe that's just how I see it. It's got quite the similar color scheme to him in the least. I'm betting (like MugenSeiRyuu) that the contest didn't look at originality so much as they did "How much detail can they add into these pictures... How much flashy crap, excess fluff can they add?"
But I suppose as long as you had fun with designing this character, you're a winner.
