I figured I'd jump on the bandwagon, since everyone ELSE seems to be doing it
Not to mention it makes a nice New Years treat!The early reports of the new Godzilla design described it as "fat." A crude description at best, but when I saw the blurry photograph at the top-right there, I imagined that the design direction wasn't so much corpulent as it was "thick."
"Monstrously thick" were the words that came to mind. A mountain of a creature, unbelievably powerful and undeniably unstoppable. I approached this hypothetical design in a similar fashion to a paleontologist's anatomical reconstructions - using the little information I had, not to mention the previous works of as inspiration, this is what I'm anticipating to be lurking behind all that blurr and smoke.

I'd be perfectly okay with this design. From the trailer, it looked as though he might not be upright, a la GINO. But, if this is actually a pretty good look to him.

The thickness of this reminds me of a cross between the Heisei suits and the GMK suit. Definitely has that sense of mass and power to him.

perhaps the bulging neck, chest and stomach is a bit much. It looks like too much chub is kinda hanging out there, only to be pulled back into a skinnier shape at the collarbone, bottom of rib cage and hips. aside from that, this is a good speculation for the titular beastie! can't wait for this movie!

While I agree the neck looks a bit too chubby, the chest and stomach probably look big because he is slouching a bit. Keep in mind that this is just based on the head, so the body must not be this fat.

This is an great interpretation. I like the head shape because it resembles the King-Goji suit. I also like the bulky propotions giving him a slow but devastating presence. I hope some of the other classic kaiju like Mothra, Rodan, or King Ghidorah are rebooted someday.

Now THAT is a monster!
Exactly what I had imagined for the new movie. A ginormous, rippling mountain of bone, jaw and muscle. No fat there, just pure STRENGTH emanating from each and every scale. The fire in the eyes of Goji here really capture the essence of rage, destruction, all these bottled up feelings finally being contained after so many event less years.
The immense spines really bring out the radioactivity boiling within, too, giving you the essence of a true...BEAST.
This...is indeed, a TRUE King of Monsters. I salute thee, Goji.

This would definitely work. If you were to try to apply real world logic, he would have to be this mountain of muscle in order to support such a tall body.
(Well, by "real world logic", I'm going on what I remember from an episode of Beakman's World, where they shown how a giant ant wouldn't be able to support it's new weight with such skinny limbs.)

YES! Biogoji was clearly the best design! Or at least, the best Godzilla Head ever.
I'd be totally happy with this for the new movie, too, although the neck seems a bit thick, makign the head look a bit small. But this is awesome.

I don't know, the thick neck/short head look gives it a sense of primitive power, sort of like a pit-bull. It could work depending on what feel they're going for in the movie.

This is epic...Godzilla here makes me think of the Kingpin form Marvel Comics.
He looks fat, but the Kingpin, like Godzilla, has very little bodyfat. Their size is ALL MUSCLE!
