Description
Assassin's Creed: The Land of the Morning CalmBefore and after transformation of the character. She goes through many challenges before she finally becomes an Assassin!
Story: To give a little summary of the idea for my game, the setting takes place mainly in Korea during The Japanese occupation which occurs during the time period of 1910-1945. There's a lot of things happening during this time period and in this corner of the world, the biggest being World War II, which is why I thought it would be a great era to base a game off of.
My story starts by showing how the main character, Arang, and her sister are forced into becoming comfort women by the Japanese and are sent to the battle camps stationed in China with hundreds of other kidnapped women during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Arang and her sister try to escape and although she does her best to protect her, her sister is killed by the pursuing soldiers. Arang is then rescued by the brotherhood of Assassin's in Manchuria and through difficult training, she gains all the skills she needs to help liberate Korea from Japanese rule.
Also, for those who are wondering, the phrase "The Land of the Morning Calm" basically is a nickname for Korea, much like "the Land of the Rising Sun" is a way to sometimes refer to Japan. Both names are derived from the characters that make up the names of each country in their respective languages and how they both translate in English. Thought this would be an interesting way to name my game

I conceived an idea for a Korean-based Assassin's Creed as well, but I was thinking more along the lines ofΒ 15th century Korea during the Joseon Period.
There's plenty of K-drama set in that time period, and Ubisoft can visit historical museums to get the architecture and soldier uniforms right.

I definitely hope Ubisoft becomes aware of this idea for a future installment, because Korea is lacking attention in Western media. We have even yet to get a Disney movie themed under traditional Korea starring a Korean princess.

Very badass story. I like the character backstory, plus focusing on the Korean Occupation would make an awesome Assassin's Creed game. For such a little-known period of history, it left a damn big impact on both Korea and Japan.

I'm not sure if you'd mind, But is it fine if I use this image for roleplay purposes? I have a certain sort of storyline I wanted to set-up, But I'd rather ask first. Btw very accurate depiction of the war in Manchuria.

what a rich and stunning perspective for the world of assassins creed. Though you could probably make it your own story by changing a few elements. I wolud love to see this in action!

This needs to be an installment! Korea needs to be known for more than just Starcraft and K-pop.

i gotta admit, your concepts of the game are marvelous.
specially there was a REAL assasin brotherhood in the colonial era of Korea, which called εηΎ©ζ·ζζ (Dong-eui Dan-ji-hoi: the Brotherhood of Finger Cut for Eastern Justice).
And our all-time favorite patriot, Mr. Ahn, Jung-geun, who assassinated Ito Hirobumi, who was the chief instigator in the occupation of Korea was a head of the brotherhood.
You can check it on his biography or some of Korean history books, which can help you make your concepts much more plausible.

This looks really epic! Great job!
...though, in all honesty, I think this would be a lot harder to pull off than AC3...
Tensions between Japan and Korea're as bad as ever since the War (just look at the Liancourt Rocks), so it'd be a lot easier to offend people comparing to AC3's treatment of the Redcoats.
Making an interesting story that doesn't alienate Japanese (or Chinese or some American) players would be really difficult....
But if you could make it all work, then that would be amazing. (Either way, I love your concept and would love to see you add onto it!)

haha very true! What I wanted to do to make sure no one is alienated (or at least less so) was to have the story take place in different settings; she would start off in manchuria for training. I would also have traitorous koreans who align themselves with the japanese government and maybe have important japanese npcs who are part of the korean resistance movement. Still, I guess the Japanese will still look like the bad guys haha, good thing this is just my own personal project
