Description
Here is my tutorial on how to make a clip-on ponytail. This method looks best for either stubbed wigs or short wigs that end near the natural hairline. If you have any questions or need me to clarify something, post a comment or send me a note and I'll be happy to get back to you. Here is what the inside of the clip looks like:

Great tutorial! And very helpful. About how many wefts did you use?

I ordered a pack, and it was really one big long weft that I snipped apart into sections. Overall, I think that one weft was a bit over a yard long? Four feet maybe? They don't sell those weft packs on Cosworx anymore so I can't give you the exact numbers, unfortunately.

This is so helpful! I tried a couple of different ways for one of my first cosplays that ended up costing me wasted wefts and lots of money, I think I can attempt this with out waste. Your Samus is awesome!

I'm so glad to help! I'm sure you'll do fine, with this one you can always rip out the wefts if you mess up. As long as you can sew a straight line, though, it's pretty easy. :3

thanks for the Tutorial! verry helpful ^^ do you have to use the hair piece already on a track or could use hair from a wig?

You can rip wefts straight out of wigs too! Or just cut the netting apart. If you have loose hairs, you can sew them into wefts and just use those. :3

Nice tutorial . But how does it stay in short hair?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Katsumiyo In reply to MistyKatti [2010-12-01 07:55:19 +0000 UTC]
In short hair meaning not using a wig? In the wig, the claws of the clip hold onto the wefts. You just open the clip, press the claws into the wig, and release. If you're using real hair, you'll need to pull your hair up into a ponytail to get a clip to hold on.

Yep, a lot of people use tulle but that's so flimsy and hard to pin. D: Plus felt is like a dollar LOL.
Thanks!~
