Description
my shading is nowhere near realistic but i do that on purpose, not aiming to be realistic
the normal version isn’t realistic either, it’s just it’s plain and i used to shade that way and the pics weren’t so lively

What can I take away from this...
Rather than have a realistic shadow, you prefer to have a "longer" one with softer color transitions. You also prefer to lighten darker areas and darken lighter areas, again, to have "longer" softer transitions and to make more detail visible(in dark areas).
Either way, your style's better. I:

that's an interestic challenge to play with the color tones while shading
i like your normal-shade apple it looks so realistic you want to eat it.
the right one can create a really interesting effect to other pictures owo
art is such a chaos of awesomeness *W*

This actually helped me a little more. I've been told to try different colors other than the main color but darker for my shadows. had no idea what that meant lol Thanks!

There isn't much of a difference, except the shadows are more defined in yours.

//late reply, but I saw this looking at the image for the first time myself
The biggest difference can be seen with the apple: the shadows and highlights have more color to them. The highlight, for example, has a reddish/orangish tint to it that the normal shade does not (which, depending on the lighting, is more realistic, but kinda boring). It gives the drawing a more dynamic lighting/shadow look. Though the difference seems to get a little lost in the noise when you zoom out from the object, as seen with the person, where the difference is subtler, and almost requires the side-by-side comparison (versus the apple, where I didn't even really need the side-by-side comparison, since I saw the difference immediately). I think how useful the difference is will depend hugely on the kind of drawing you're doing.

Same here! I prefer and use the so-unrealistic one. I love it when they look shiny but not too much and/or rough.

This...I like this.
It's not the first time I've seen shading like this, per say, but this is the first time I've seen it explained so simply.

your shading is actually THE right way to shade - in real life objects' shades and highlights are of supplementary colours.
nice demonstration of the concept!
