Who teaches a perfect layman about drawing with faces?
Start with "simple" stuff, like, how to hold a pencil, draw lines and basic figures. (S)he will learn much faster and frustrate less that way, because that wouldn't be "difficult".

AHH This is too relatable! I get so sick of people thinking that if we teach them how to draw they will take our (Insert years of experience) after one lesson >.> I just can't be bothered anymore XD I should start with: "It will take you approximately this many years to get to this stage of drawing. Now, do you want to draw every day for the rest of our life until your hand hurts and then some?"

My classmates were like this... in art school! She asked for help, I started explaining. After 20 seconds she interrupted me, because she needed to go outside to smoke. I was like, fine whatever. Don't ever talk to me againΒ Β

This is the reason I typically take some kind of compensation for lessons in anything. Β If you aren't going to take it seriously, don't bother asking.
