Yayuuu~ Another tutorial from Kay! =3 I love these... Even though it's very simple, the simple things are often those that make the whole picture look better ^^ It was a great idea, so hopefully i'll be able to use this in my future work. Thanks for taking to time to make them Kay! it really does help!

whats all this image tracing i've been hearing about, can i scan in a black and white drawing i did and "image trace" it so i can clour it in digitaly?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

kaykaykit In reply to RoboLance [2005-07-13 21:53:57 +0000 UTC]

Well, sort of.. I'm not really familiar with the technique of scanning in a picture and colouring over it like that.. Because I don't, I do my sketch and all on the computer. So you would have to ask someone else.

sarahelsherbini [2005-07-13 16:41:11 +0000 UTC]

I've really gotta try this soon!

I have one question: HOW do you colour the black outline? I've been trying to figure that out forever! Maybe you're nice enough to tel me? :3 Thanks!

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

kaykaykit In reply to sarahelsherbini [2005-07-13 18:15:16 +0000 UTC]

Easy, hehe. Ok, so, you're outline is on a separate layer. Just press the transpency button for that layer, then you can colour right over it.

Wow! Kay, you've been making some really great tutorials! I'll have to try this one!

heartleaved [2005-07-13 03:40:07 +0000 UTC]

oh! XD so that's the proper way you go about gradient shading...I do it differently o0o I use the soft brush (but not the airbrush) to put in rough shading, then I take an airbrush and smooth out some of the rougher bits. XD but this seems much easier and loads more effective. *0*

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

kaykaykit In reply to heartleaved [2005-07-13 11:48:19 +0000 UTC]

lol, that is not the proper way for sure. XD It's just a way I've adapted to. .o. Hehe, everyone has their own ways. x3 I love learning new techniques myself, so I can do I huge combination of techinques to make my own uber cool, special style. @o@

This is a very nice tutorial.. but, i think if I use it it will only be for BGs, cause, when i color like, say, a lioness (cause i always draw em lol.), i do all of the colorng on one layer. I know, most more advanced ppl do each section of the animal or w/e in seperate colored layers xDD
