Rafiki removed the makeshift bandages from Zuri's face, chest, and shoulder. She was one of the many lionesses injured in the short battle between the former Outlanders and the Pridelanders some time ago. The wounds had healed up nicely, but unfortunately she would be scarred for life. Zuri couldn't help but be jealous of the lionesses that were unharmed in the fight.

Zuri sadly made her way back to Pride Rock with Tiifu by her side. The two made their way to a ledge where Vitani and her guard were resting. Unable to go further to the den where she could cry out of sight, Zuri collapsed onto the rock and broke out into wailing. "Woah, Zuri, what's the matter?" Tiifu inquired.

"I'm not beautiful anymore - no lion is gonna want me! I'll die old and alone!!!"

Vitani sighed and rolled her eyes, trying to sleep. Zuri and Tiifu hadn't noticed, still focused on their conversation. "You're still pretty, Zuri! I think the scars look good on you!" Tiifu patted Zuri's shoulder reassuringly.

"You're only saying that because you're my sister."

"What? No? You are genuinely beautiful, Zuri."

"Liar!" Zuri wailed and sobbed into her paws. Tiifu tried unsuccessfully to calm her friend down, much to Vitani's annoyance.

"Oh my gosh, just shut up!" Vitani yelled out. Her guard, and Tiifu and Zuri whipped their heads towards her in shock. Vitani got up from her spot and stood a short distance from the pair. "We had a hard day and we don't need you disturbing our rest with some dumb attention-seeking bullshit."

Zuri stood up to face Vitani, tears in her eyes. "W-why are you being so mean?" Her lip quivered.

"She's right. That was really uncalled for." Tiifu said with a scowl.

"Frankly I don't give a damn. We work too damn hard protecting the borders! We deserve a little respect!"

"Respect?" Tiifu scoffed. "There were a million ways to approach this situation, and you chose to be mean!"

It was then, the hunting party returned with a fresh kill and they had begun to hear the commotion. They all looked at each other, then abandoned the kill and made their way up the rock.

Vitani bared her teeth at Tiifu and Zuri, ready to fight. Imara got in front of her and pushed her back. "What was that for?"

"I think you need to calm down."

Vitani took a deep breath and sighed. She glanced at the pair of lionesses before nodding her head towards her guard, telling them a silent "lets go".
