Description
Sorry it's a little squished together. I wanted a one-pager,but underestimated the amount of space it would take...lll
It's a tutorial best suited for beginner~intermediate learners
and a great revision of my old Cell CG tutorial (which is a lot
simpler, but this one is a good memory refresher for me~).
Do feel free to share it anywhere.

That was great I never though of the lasso tool when multiple parts are on the same layer, I use CS4 and the grouping doesn't work that way now it's called "clipping layer" you can access that by creating a new layer on top and right clicking it to change to clipping.

1st: The grouping looks a lot like a clipping mask. Same thing (I use CS3:E) or is it really just something different with the same animation?
2nd: I had no idea I could modify the the selection, that's really useful, and I thank you for that tip!

Yes. I used to have both 7 and CS3 and I'm certain there would be no problem using CS3, as it's actually a newer version than 7 and has all the tools you need.

I just got Photoshop and I must ask:
Is there like some kind of "path tool?" Like in GIMP?

I've never used GIMP, so i'm taking a wild stab here, but you can make pathways in photoshop with the pen tool. Hope that helps >.<'

I have an odd feeling this is going to be crazy useful. Thanks for making a tutorial. I know it can be a lot of work but it really helps us learn.
So, kudos to you. ^__^

Great tutorial By the way, the "grouping" is called "clipping masks" (I think) in the later versions.

So I noticed...but they took away button linking and that makes me rage.
(well, it is still possible to link, but ugh...)

To create clipping masks you need to press Alt and then click on the line below the layer you want to convert to a clipping mask.
I can't remember, but I think it was a change they made from CS to CS2 version and later versions. And years passed before I found the shortcut again, it was anoying lol.
Nice tutorial btw c:
