Description
On Star Trek V, while everyone on the bridge of the Enterprise is busy watching what is happening down on the "God" planet, a Klingon Bird-of-Prey gets in a lucky torpedo hit, while the Enterprise's shields are down. This apparently knocks out primary power, as half the screens on the bridge display this Auxiliary Power display.
This is a very simplistic animated display, compared to the ones I have created, but it is no less important.

I wish I could find the sound effect for the blue alert in V...

There is a lot of sound effects I wish I could find. The phaser SFX from V are probably my favorite. Though I like the Red Alert from Motion Picture more than V's shorter version

I agree, Funny, I never noticed this display before, You have a good eye K1. BTW did you hear I left okudagrams.com? Not forever, Just until the new movie comes out, I'll be back after that, I did what BA did, I want to let everything cool down first, Joe wants to ban some people on that thread by Sunday, Apparently everyone else is scared, Because I'm the last one to leave a post on that thread, Read it, If you get a chance, But look it's Joe's site and he can do whatever he wants there. And he's still a good guy. For some reason he's very excitable (To put it Mildly). But anyway, I love all you're designs, They really are great. Keep'em coming.

Speaking of having a good eye. If you watch Star Trek V again, note the backlit display on the far right side of the Engineering Station (first to the left of the main viewscreen). Up top you will see the Dilithium Status display (which is on Jose's post in the Voyage Home thread). After the Enterprise takes the torpedo hit (and the bridge is filled with Aux Power displays), the Dilithium Status display is changed, and all the bars (which were near full power) are dropped to near zero. You can barely see it, while the Klingon Captain is on the viewscreen, but I love when they pay attention to subtle details like that ^_^

Yeah, the static backlit displays actually had a logical layout on the 1701-A bridge - the only problem I had was the working screens, because we end up seeing the same displays on all stations. I mean, why does Uhura need Deflector Status on her station.... and more-over... how did Scotty raise the shields from the Communications console?
The designers clearly did their job right, but Shatner (as director) unfortunately didnt. Sure he know the characters well... but he seems to be lacking in the tech aspects. Lets not forget the 78 deck high vertical turbolift shaft *looks at the design of the Enterprise* yeeeeaaaahhhhh, that works, uh huh. And going from Earth, to the Neutral Zone, to the Center of the Galaxy in seemingly one day. Star Trek V did have the best designs.... but the worst continuity errors of all.

What I think it was mainly was by the time they kept redesigning the bridge they just didn't care anymore where the displays went, Which is a shame, TOS movie graphics were IMO the most accurate in the series, Movies or otherwise. I didn't like what they did on TNG, Putting inside jokes on the graphics, You know what I mean, They stoped doing that later on, But it still wasn't right. I had the STTMP peel off graphics books when it fist came out, And they had commonsense writing on the graphics, Everything from the use of the tubolift to the Exo suit instructions. My love is LCARS, But I am really torn between TOS displays and TNG LCARS. Both are beautifully designed.

Yeah, TOS movies (both refit and A designs) have always been my favorite. Refit because they are so detailed and extremely functional. 1701-A because the arched design panels, and the blue-green color scheme. Except when at Red Alert, in which case the greens are replaced with Red, which is an interesting design choice too. Which means, all my status displays have to have a second Alert version too lol

The only thing I didn't like about TOS Movies was the uniforms, They seemed way too bulky and heavy looking, They had the jacket, vest and turtleneck shirt, Way too much clothing to wear. Are you going to Redo all you're display's into a Red Alert mode? That should be fun to try and do. Good Luck with that.

So far, the only ones I need to redo are the System Status and Vehicle Status displays. Maybe Sensor Analysis too.
As for the uniforms - Only Kirk had the vest underneath. Otherwise, its just the turtleneck and the jacket. This was primarily the decision of the cast, who didn't want to suffer through the indignity of the Motion Picture uniforms, which were extremely difficult to get in and out of. In the words of George Takei, they needed to have a wardrobe assistant with them, just to answer nature's call. The new uniforms were certainly easier to get in and out of. Only time when the bulkiness became an issue was at the end of Star Trek IV, it almost dragged Nichelle Nichols under the water. The White Engineering suits actually did have a point though, and I liked them a lot (but they were designed for TMP, not TWOK)
With TOS in mind, I do like the Motion Picture uniforms. They just needed some re-designing to be more functional, and easier to wear. The skin-tight jumpsuits were kinda tacky, yeah.

Yeah, I see your point, But I was always under the assumption that they all were suppose to have those vests on underneath the jacket, But I have to say the best uniforms so far IMO are the one's they currently use in TNG, The gray and black, They also have a matching vest, To me they look very professional. I don't care much for the the one's that are suppose to come after these, The one's they used in the EndGame, There too boring looking being all one color, Reminds me too much of ENT's uniforms. The only thing I'm glad they didn't put in the new movie that they used in TOS was what I call "The pirate flare" on the pants, To me it always seemed a little overboard and not too professional looking, But then again, That could have been another reason that made TOS different from other Sci-Fi shows back then. Who Knows.

Only reason they used them on Endgame is because they were already established on "All Good Things", the TNG finale. Too late to change it. I never liked the uniforms either, but the future Starfleet Delta I did like. I have one ^_^
the First Contact uniforms I liked too.

Well, I know some of the hostility came from me, just because I hate people who judge without watching (like people who refused to watch TNG because of the hair clip Geordi wears over his eyes).
I hope Jose takes into account the contributions I have made, before he considers banning me. Especially since I have a few more projects in mind, namely the Star Trek V Helm/Nav console, and the Star Trek V (barely seen) Transporter Room console. I want to do the Ops console on Generations too (the one where Tim Russ's character sits, on the Enterprise-B)

I think the best thing to do is do what I did and leave the site for awhile, Just after the new movie comes out, Basically just sit it out, I would rather leave than get banned, I wrote a letter to Dietrich today explaining the situation, This is what I E-Mailed Dietrich:
"Just want to let you know what's going on, I left okudagrams.com, Not forever though, I'll be back there after the new movie comes out, I just wanted everything to cool down first, Jose says he is going to ban some people that were on the "Star Trek XI Photos (Shuttle..etc) Thread" on Sunday, I don't know if I was one of them that was to be banned, If I was that would have angered me if I was banned, Because I did nothing wrong, So what I decided to do was do what BA did, Leave and come back after the new movie comes out. Apparently everyone else is scared to post on that thread, Or just scared of Jose, But I'm not, Because I was the last one to leave a post on that thread, mdtauk posted something before I did and Jose deleated it, Apparently Jose didn't like what he said. But read what I said you get the chance, In my opinion, Jose has some problems, Don't get me wrong, He's a good guy and all, But he flips out at minor things, What he's doing is banning people that have a difference of opinion about the new movie? To me that's crazy, Plus the other reason that he's going to ban people is, This is his own words " Because people are not hearing what I am saying", Jose calls himself the LCARS God, Or is it because he own's the site he thinks of himself as God? To me that's wrong, He made deif the Moderator for the site, I like deif, But he doesn't do a good job at all. I don't know how it is with you over there in Germany Dietrich, But here in the States, We have what we call Freedom of Speech, And since his site is in the U.S. he has no right to do this, What Jose is doing is wrong, Regardless if he own's the site or not, I've read through that thread, And I don't see any reason for him to ban anyone, I've seen no death threats to any members there nor anything that comes close to that, It seems that he want's to ban people that don't listen to him or see his point of view. To me it seems Jose has a big EGO or something, I agree with some of the things he said, But it's not right to Bully people just because you own the site, I would never do that. I DON'T LIKE BULLIES, Maybe Jose has personal problems, I don't know, But if he does, He should keep it to himself and not explode on the other members of the site. So I hope you understand that if you post anything on okudagrams.com that I won't respond to them till after the the new movie comes out. Sorry this E-Mail is longer than usual, But I just want to let you know what's going on."
Now I don't think I'm wrong for what I said, But really Jose gets out of hand, Ive PM him a handful of times and for some reason he always has a problem with me for some reason, He always starts his replies off with *Dude" whats with that? The last time I PM him was to delete a poll I was putting up there there, It was " Do you think the new Star Trek movie will fail?" I forgot to click the Poll option at the bottom so I made another one the same way and clicked the Poll option this time, So I PM Jose and asked him if he would delete the first one I did because I forgot to click the Poll box down below. He deletes both threads I made, He then Jose sends me a PM saying " Dude I will, but please do not make another thread like this." If he doesn't like the movie why would he say this? Jose got some problems, I don't know. You know me, I'm a nice guy, But I don't go for Bulling, What it looks like he's doing. But anyway, Keep'em coming with the TOS movie graphics, There my second favorite, The first being LCARS of course.

I do kinda understand where Joe is coming from, considering banning people. Some forums do get totally out of hand. I don't know if you have ever been to 4chan, but that would be my example of forums that are out of control.
While we are trying as hard as we can to remain civil, the new movie forums are only two steps short of full-blown hostility and hatred. We don't want it to get that far.
If some rules would be posted on the new movie threads, that would be better than just straight banning people. We'll see what happens after the new movie fallout clears.

But I think that Joe is taking that thread too far, I have seen no one threaten anyone there and the arguments there were mild to say the least. IMO nothing was going out of control there, It's just Joe might have some personal problems, Which I can understand, But saying things like "I will be going over this thread and kick out a few members and close the thread...Because people are not hearing what I am saying" To me honestly, It sounds like a ranting from a madman, He's going to ban people for have a difference of an opinion on a New Star Trek Movie? that's nut's, I mean it's one thread not the entire site that this discussion was going on, What's his problem? He also PM me because I sent someone over to a site mainly because he had vector graphics on his site and deleted my post also, It had to do with UFP logos, And Joe felt the site was using the wrong color and his was the right one's. I don't know. All I know is we all have differences about things there, But banning people is going to far just because you don't heed the warning of the LCARS God. It really is silly when it comes down to it.

Yeah, I am taking the ban situation a different way. I stay out of the new movie threads, of course. But I keep contributing what I can, and hopefully that will gain me some favor points.
Working on the Deflector Shield display from Star Trek V and VI (subtle differences between the two). I've always loved the layered shield raising.

Is there a new place LCARS creators gather? Since both Okudagrams.com and LCARSC had been destroyed (probably by the same lifeless hacker).
