Description Back in the age of dinosaurs (the 80's), I got to visit Spain where I must have taken a couple hundred photos...all 35 mm, mind you!  I have been going through the negatives and scanning some of them into my computer, like this one of the castle in Segovia.  An amazing place!

Lots of castles in Spain...it seemed that each village and town had a castle in varying degrees of repair.  I remember seeing a few that had been planned with a nod towards decorative appeal; most were functional and kind of intimidating.  I believe that Segovia was built in the French style and more like it can be found in that country.

Lovely shot. The Alcazar is one of my favorite castles of this period and style.
