God, the music scene these days is absolutely BRUTAL. I was genuinely surprised when I realized the extent of it. Why people get so vicious over musical taste is really beyond me. I've had people tell me I can't be a Beatles fan if I like My Chemical Romance, or that I can't be a HIM fan if I listen to Beyonce. Like hell I can't.I've seen people completely ditch and blow up at other people just because they like some band or singer or watch American Idol or don't or whatever. It's stupid! It's just stupid! And it's not fair that fans of bands can get so exclusive of others. You all like the band. Who cares what else you listen to?
I could rant like this for an hour and a half, so I'll cut myself off. XD

I was a passenger in a car once, pulled up at the lights and there was a young (wasn't looking too much but he looked young in the corner of my eye) rich guy in a nice car next to us and he was listening to Nightwish Phantom Of The Opera. It was funny because I just started to like the band a few weeks before that happened.Β

More then true! My I-pod is a variety, ranging from show tunes to Three Doors Down and even some Taylor Swift, and I know a lot of people who hate all the different artists, but it's my opinion, not their's!

Amen! I hate people who think that Nickelback is an awful band and think I have absolutely no taste in music. I mean, what the hell? So they aren't that hardcore band like Metallica or even the doors; I love Chad Kroeger's voice and I like Nickelback's songs.
Sorry, straying. But you're right, music is music and you can listen to whatever kind of music that you want.

So very true! I listen to stuff like Disturbed then listen to Pokemon theme tune, then some classical video game music...I listen to everything and so there's always someone who hates me. It makes no sense. But that's how the world is these days...

Speaking as someone who listens to Linkin Park, Disturbed, and MCR, then turns around and listens to music sung in Latin like an opera (a song, "Preliator", comes to mind), I agree with this 110%.
