Commenting on someone's artwork can start conversations, resulting in new friendships, which can result in relationships that last quite a while. Two of my greatest dA friends, *CACecil and *imaginaryending met me by commenting on my work. And likewise, half of my dA friends and I met through comments.When someone adds something to their favorites, the most that most people do is go and thank them, maybe poke around in their gallery. I know sometimes more is done, but I'm talking about the majority. Most people (myself included) don't really even pay attention to their favorites. They're impersonal. Not saying that's a bad thing; it's just the truth.

I know that this stamp is supposed to stay positive, but comments can also start drama and rivalries, too...

True! Favs can hardly start drama and rivalry, comments do it better. But I see it as another argument in favor of comments.

This is very true. The first person to ever comment on my deviations is now one of my best friends, and when I get those messages that tell me somebody favorited a deviation of mine I go "Oh, another favorite" 'cause they never comment. It makes me wonder if they do that because they like my work or if they do it because they feel they're obligated to because they watch me.

I seriously don't remember how we met on here. I just remember it was probably almost three years ago when I was still on that !AlessXVIII account acting like an idiot.
I agree with this stamp though. I always read and try to reply to every comment, but I don't even look at who faves what half the time anymore.
