It always kinda annoys me when someone say that all art needs to have a meaning because I wonder why? Why can't we simply enjoy a movie, game, comic or any other artform and not immediately try to ask ourselves ''what does it mean?'' A movie like Planet Terror isn't there to provoke some deep thoughts or to make you question life. No, it's just there to entertain you for a few hours and nothing more. I don't want every artist to put some sort of deep meaning behind everything they make otherwise you get movies like The Cell. Remember that one Critic?Ask me what it means! Ask me what it means!

I get that what some mean by this is that a story has to be written in a coherent way and no create plotholes but others think if it doesn't have a deep meaning behind it it's garbage and that the people who enjoy it are dumb.
