Kelsea Snell for Ultimate Dance. I love my fearless dancers, that quite literally throw themselves at the sky in a exuberant celebration of movement. I thought of titling it Embrace the Sky but I was inspired by the Phish lyrics I found.You can zoom in to see the beautiful arcs of water droplets flying off her feet that reiterate the beauty of the movement. I taught social dance for many years - just the stuff used at balls and weddings etc, but dance is an intergral part of my world and to see such wonders is amazing!

omg, Kelsea looks like she's keeping the waves apart with her legs! Fantastic movement and pose here, the detail in the sea and waves makes it a little tricky to perceive just how far exactly she is above the sand, which makes her look very much like she's flying impossibly high!

I shoot lot of my dance with a low camera angle, I like the way it makes the dancers look larger than life or like they're on stage. Usually I'm just sitting on the ground but when I can get a really low angle, like by laying on my stomach, the leaps look really high!

In this shot it didn't feel like you were sitting on the ground, I think it's the inclusion of all the waves in the background that kinda warps my perception of height

Thank-you!!! She's in New York this year but we're planning another photo shoot in the Spring with just a piece of long fabric. Another thing about the dancers, they're tireless, I love working with them.
