Description
Model/Dancer: Holly MarcotI could call this 'Tireless' the way Holly leaped and danced and laughed... this is hard, dancing in the surf on uncertain footing.

Thank-you! I've always loved this. Both dancer and rocks are gone now, so glad I captured this.

I know that shorelines shift and change, but....I hope the dancer is still dancing!

When I was in Australia recently, I attempted to surf -- I wasn't able to surf, but I did gain a REAL respect for the sea. Your model deserves kudos for her grace, stamina and beauty. Excellent photography. It appears that you and the model shared a genuine rapport and vision.

The soft lines make this picture look dreamy! And the model's dress blends right into her surroundings, it looks as if she's wearing some sort of cloud. She has a beautiful pose, I would be worried about dancing off the rocks and into the water if I were her!
Not sure about composition (as you mentioned in the above comment)... perhaps the horizon is a little too close to the model? Do you think the picture would look better if you'd taken it from a lower angle, so the horizon is pretty far from most of her body? (Is the horizon distracting to you? ) =o Or, what about a closer crop, or a rotation so her leg's perpendicular to the bottom of the picture?

Thank-you Mike, I appreciate that! I feel like I could have done more with the composition but not sure what. I'm so focused on the action in dance photos anyway that I tend to just shoot everything dead center!

I understand what you mean. I'm not sure that position her to the left or right would make a major difference with this image. It rocks the way it is. MLS
