Description
LOU GENISENovember 4, 1970-February 13, 2009
"The heart
is an organ of fire"
Photographed October 10, 2006
Los Angeles
From Tri-x Film
[EDIT 2/15/2009]
This is my friend Lou who I did a lot of fire performance with years ago. We were both fire breathers, though he took it much more seriously than I. He developed intestinal cancer in 2006. He beat it the first time, then it came back last year.
They thought he could manage it, but then the chemo stopped working. He passed away early in the morning this last friday. These were shot in the fall of 2006 for a piece that I created for him to help alleviate his increasing medical costs. We're headed to his funeral in an hour.

It's a sadly story... all about cancer it is.

To the first commenter- the little bump on his chest is a Portocath, a way of administering chemotherapy less intrusively.
I have a scar where mine used to be.
This is a lovely, Kmo.
