Description
Had WAY too much fun with this, even if there were things I could have done better with.A lot is heavily inspired by Bob Rafei's concept art for the original game. Rather than copy the final design they used for the temple in the Jungle, I sorta mish-mashed a bunch of his concepts into something I liked.
And thanks to Tanya for the tip on Daxter's pose. He looks far more relaxed now. :3

Fanart from 'Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy'. Still my fave in all the Jak and Daxter games due to pure nostalgia (and my love for bight, colourful, happy things).

I'm playing this game again. I think I can replay it like forever xD
This was the first game I got on the PS2, I really enjoyed (and I still enjoy) it.
When I learned how Jak 2:Renegade would look, I was so sad. Too see Jak with a weapon and transforming into some kind of monster, I was like "I won't buy this game!". But I finally buy it, the same for Jak 3.
But I began the serie with TPL, which is the best one for me because of the universe
Well, by the way, great work on this picture

/sigh If only Jak and Daxter were still the same...
And recently, Jak seems to have less and less green hair. It makes me sad.

Haha this makes me happy cuz I'm pickin up the PSP port of the game prolly next week. Ironically I preordered it cuz I didn't have my PS2 with me or my copy of the game, but I do now, which means the only worth the PSP port will have for me is the portability. Jak fun on the go! XD
Jak and Daxter is definately the embodiment of a great platforming title and one of the few good ones for the PS2 (sadly). As much as I liked the sequels, Jak and Daxter will always be my favorite simply for keeping the spirit of cheerier platform games with thin plotlines (cuz who needs a plot when the game is so fucking fun to play? *coughcoughtakehintsheresega*) and lush, beautiful worlds ripe for exploration (and in the best cases, destruction! yay smashing things with your head or butt or whatever!).
And of course, great use of colors to represent what a bright world that is. I like how you omitted detailed lines for the far background, looks convincing. :3

I simply adore that the backgrounds aren't line arted like the main guys. It gives it a much natural feel and helps separate and integrate them in.

Agreed. The darkness of the second game was a huge turn off for me after the bright, cheerful feel of the first game. We've got enough edgy games. We need more Jak & Daxter/Kingdom Hearts kind of games.
Awesome job on this picture. *love*

Ah, good memories. I liked Jak 3 the best myself just for the sake of being able to blow up as much stuff as possible with all the different weapons. Pity they made it so simple though, I beat the game less than twenty four hours after I got it. Jak and Daxter took me quite a bit longer.

You deserve major applause for this! Man, your colors are RIDICULOUS. They do the amazing environments of the first game so much justice. Precursor Legacy was my favorite game too, so much brighter and innocent. Not like the complete eyesore that was Haven.. Anyway, so nice to see more Jak & Dax art from you.

Also also, the focus/line. I love how you used heavy lines on the jak/dax to make them seem in-focus, and the background-temple-thing thinner to make it look blurred.

This is so incredibly lovely, I just can't stop staring at it. You've done an excellent job capturing the feel of the first game, with it's bright and vibrant colors and the dense jungle that hides traces of old civilization. I love how you used a colored ink instead of black for the outline of the temple, and the way you have Jak's hair swirl just so is perfect. The softer appearance of the scenery that is farther away from Jak and Daxter is a wonderful contrast to the black lines used to outline the characters and the foreground.
I might just have to pick up the game and play it again because of this. So much nostalgia!

Great Job, yeah I liked the cartoony look of the first one to, all the sequels got too dark and angsty, like the Prince of Persia sequels .
