Gift artwork for Segamu, the writer behind Sokora Refugees ([link] ) - Just recently he's been helping me out and doing stuff way up and beyond the call of duty. Helping me out (let me say right now, he's one of those manga writers who's loyal to his fans and prooves it well!). So I figured I could at least do something nice for him, like do another one of his characters....that, and plug his work Go buy Sokora Refugees, YO!
Velia's maybe my second fave characters...after Salome. I've never been too sure about the lengths of the ears on the elven characters in Sokora...sometimes they seem almost Jak-ish long, and other times seem shorter...so I went with the 'mid-length' style. XD

Oh gee! I just love how you did the background here <3 The cardlike pieces of background with the roses in them are just such a lovely touch! I also like how it matches dA :B Plus, the colours of her skin are so gorgeous, and fits so well with her hair colours. The purples are so gorgeous!

ja! I love how you do hair. I'm new to markers and the whole colour aspect of it. You must have been using them for ages. Do you have a recommended brand of marker that you would use? At the mo I use neopiko and I'm scared to use them incase I muck up the picture and waste the ever so expensive ink. They cost me about 8, 000 yen in total! EEeeek!!
I'm also new with inking and I was wondering if you use a nib or a ball point pen?
How do you get shine? gah! sooo much I wanna know!!!

Oh, Kai, this is a beautiful piece. I'm sorry it took me so long to get to it. I love the background; I've not seen you use something like that and it's so pretty! You did really well transforming Velia into your style and her pose is very nice. Great job, sweetheart!

Her hair is very pretty, you do wonderful things with markers! I like the way her hair kinda just swooshes around Velia. Has so much movement, it's kinda like water... I adore the background... It looks like card randomly thrown around. I love the way you draw roses!

Nope, just fillied it with the colour I could get closest to the DA background with adobe Photodeluxe. Don't have photoshop on this computer (if I did, it's a simple matter of using the RGB for the lighter BG colour on DA).

I also ove the floaty flower squares (for lack of a better description, heheh) in the background. :3 You draw flowers so well, it must have taken you ages! Flowers hate me.

*squeals* Lavender hair! I'm such in love with lavender hair and may I say the way it flows around the back of her body is just lovely. Her face has kind of got a sleepy feel, but I naturally assume her expression is one of peace and serenity of some sorts. The added roses add a nice touch to the gal, making it even more beautiful.

Jak's ears are cool, though with all the firefights he's been in, plus that "to teh death" racing in Jak X, I'm suprised they're not a bit singed.
Your ear length looks OK. I would have said that Jak length would have worked just as well, but then again, I havn't seen much Magna.
