Description
Please say the name of the shader, or credit me, or link this post in your credits if you use this shader, thank you very much, I'm appreciate it!github.com/KH40-khoast40/MES40
For more details of the shader, read the GitHub page
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
RULES:
✔️ Modification is allowed (duh), you can customize the shader, or add new features to it all you want.
✔️ Including the shader with the models you distribute is allowed.
❌ Commercial use is not allowed, please use other shaders that allow this.
❌ Redistributing the shader (putting the intact shader as the main focus of the DL) is not allowed, you can link this page or my dA post of the shader for the viewers to download it directly.
✔️ However, it's fine for you to put your modification of the shader for DL.
⚠️ The shader itself is not limited to any kind of contents. The usage limit completely depends on the model you are going to apply the shader to.
⚠️ I am not responsible for any damages that are caused by the use of the shader, please consider carefully when you use the shader.
🗿 Beside that annoying begging for credit I made at the top, you should include the MES40_credits.txt in your DL if you use the shader, the shader is not the work of mine alone, so a full credits would be nice. The txt will be updated alongside the shader.

I don't know if you can incorporate this but maybe a way to control the strength of normal maps? Specular Maps have it but not Normal Maps.

The thing is that I want you to edit the normal map itself, not in the shader. Bc later if you want to use that map for other shaders, the result will still be accurate
And I don't remember adding options to adjust the specular map

I'm not the most talented with editing normal maps. *shrug* I like your fx and doubt I would use the nms and stuff I've made for anything else. It was just to have a bit of control over the strength without editing and possibly ruining the nms.
As for specular, it's more you can adjust the intensity. I wasn't clear and sorry about that.

lol it's super easy to change the normal map's intensity, just change the texture's contrast, there are plenty of programs can do that
I might add the feature to the shader in the future, but not rn for a reason (and I must try first to see if I can really implement it)
As for specular, the thing that you can control its intensity is the dot of shine, not the map, they're different things

That thing is a broken feature (for now hopefully) so don't spend time with it

I can try, but is it weird that the vertex color doesn't make the model appear like they are in-game?

KH40 In reply to Dan1024 [2020-03-08 10:39:25 +0000 UTC]
the only customizing option I find appropriate for vertex color is changing its intensity (transparency stays the same), the other ones seems like you have to have them in your mind when you making the vertex colors

As soon as I get the .osd/.bin files from quickbms, I would just open them in noesis and convert them straight to .pmx with minmode's script, there is no need for you to convert it to .dae half way through

How did you make the shadows so perfect and not pixelated?

you can change the shadow version of the effect in the fx file

I added a gif file and loaded effect, but nothing happened. There is no animation on the stage. Is there any other special conditions for animated textures?

remove the double slash at the beginning of the #define AnimatedTexture line

Did you change the name of the animated texture in the fx to match with your gif?

Cekerochka In reply to KH40 [2020-01-04 19:36:02 +0000 UTC]
I thought yes... Well, with .png it worked. Another question, is there any way to make animation without black background? For example I have white speedlines with black background, so is there any way to delete this background and make effect more transparent? Because with transparent animation with nonintegral number of transparency always rounded to integer.

I've explained everything I can in the object.fx file, I honestly can't think of any way to teach further than that

Hi i wanted to ask how does this effect works, I mean, when i load the fx file on the model nothing happens

KH40 In reply to ShinTheFudanshi [2019-11-24 05:54:09 +0000 UTC]
The default settings of the effect give the same visual as vanilla mmd, you must change the settings to see the differences

KH40 In reply to ShinTheFudanshi [2019-11-24 17:19:07 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I've explained pretty much everything in the object.fx so there is no need for a tutorial

i have a question, some stages have water and the normal map for the water is animated, but i can't put gif in the normal map because appears an error.
What should i do

KH40 In reply to juandiego245 [2019-10-23 04:54:54 +0000 UTC]
The shader doesn't support animated normal map, I can add it if I want too, but it would add many extra locating and defining lines in the object.fx that can cause even more confusion
I'll try to find a way to add the feature without too many lines added, don't count on it tho

I can't make my own CubeMap? Is there a way to make your own Baked image?
This is what I get for .dds
Error: Failed to create texture (parameter: `CubeMap`): An undetermined error occurred [80004005]

you should try opening your .dds cubemap in noesis and export it out again, also in .dds format
