I'm not sure if anyone else ever had this problem, but back when I was a noob I didn't know the "MMEffect" thing in the top right corner could be pressed. I thought it just showed up to let you know you had MikuMikuEffect installed.
But in case there's other beginners out there who have had the same problem, here's this tutorial! It's my first MMD tutorial, so sorry if it isn't the best!

Additional notes: It's possible to make a shader only appear on a specific model material through subset extract! I will make a separate tutorial on this some other time, but it shouldn't be too hard to figure out.
