Description
Please say the name of the shader, or credit me, or link this post in your credits if you use this shader, thank you very much, I'm appreciate it!github.com/KH40-khoast40/MES40
For more details of the shader, read the GitHub page
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
RULES:
✔️ Modification is allowed (duh), you can customize the shader, or add new features to it all you want.
✔️ Including the shader with the models you distribute is allowed.
❌ Commercial use is not allowed, please use other shaders that allow this.
❌ Redistributing the shader (putting the intact shader as the main focus of the DL) is not allowed, you can link this page or my dA post of the shader for the viewers to download it directly.
✔️ However, it's fine for you to put your modification of the shader for DL.
⚠️ The shader itself is not limited to any kind of contents. The usage limit completely depends on the model you are going to apply the shader to.
⚠️ I am not responsible for any damages that are caused by the use of the shader, please consider carefully when you use the shader.
🗿 Beside that annoying begging for credit I made at the top, you should include the MES40_credits.txt in your DL if you use the shader, the shader is not the work of mine alone, so a full credits would be nice. The txt will be updated alongside the shader.

mikumikumodel, only be used for PjD assets tho

I have another question about this shader? Is it also possible to add an effect where the object is invisible but have it show it's self shadow if the self shadow is on?

KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-08 10:12:35 +0000 UTC]
You can always do that by putting an transparent texture into the material

You mean by using PMX Editor?

Will I still be able to see it’s self shadow?

I gave it a transparent texture but I don’t see it’s self shadow.

wait did you mean the transparent object cast shadow on other objects or the other objects cast shadow on the transparent object

Other objects cast shadow on transparent objects.

it likely only be used for your case alone

Cool Shader. Would I have to bake the vertex colors to a texture?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-02 18:11:16 +0000 UTC]
No, just make sure the pmx contains vertex color data

How do I do that? When I convert MMD Models into PMX, they don’t show Vertex Colors.

KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 04:21:00 +0000 UTC]
by storing it in one of the extra UV sets. Currently the only method is by using minmode's noesis pmx script
you have to have the model in a kind of file that can natively store vertex color (fbx for example) (and make sure the file really have vertex color in it), then use his script to convert that file to pmx in noesis

Where can I get that PMX script? Note me for link please?

Does it also support Vertex Alpha as well?

vertex color can alter the mesh's transparency as well

How do I convert it from fbx to pmx using the script? I'm having a little trouble.

KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 13:47:28 +0000 UTC]
use noesis, there are tutorials on how to install plugins to the program online, then you can just open the fbx in the program, right click, choose export, and select the file type

Can I use this shader for my stage if I modify it?

read the rules on the github page, but yeah you can

Lilothestitch In reply to KH40 [2020-05-03 15:01:33 +0000 UTC]
Do I have to add some options to the conversion like some commands for the vertex colors to work too?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 15:40:46 +0000 UTC]
No, as long as the fbx contains vertex color then ur good

Lilothestitch In reply to KH40 [2020-05-03 15:41:42 +0000 UTC]
Okay then so how can I have the effect show the colors because when I load the shader, nothing happens. Do I have to edit the fx file to get it to work? How did you do it?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 15:58:19 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, you edit it, change 0 to 1 in the VERTEXCOLOR line or smthing like that I forgot

Is there a way for me to brighten the vertex colors with the effect if they’re dark?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 16:02:54 +0000 UTC]
change the vertex color itself in the fbx or you can change the intensity (not brightness) of it in the shader

How do I change the intensity of the shader?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
KH40 In reply to Lilothestitch [2020-05-03 16:04:28 +0000 UTC]
Look for it, there is an option in the fx, it should be around the VERTEXCOLOR line
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lilothestitch In reply to KH40 [2020-05-03 16:10:17 +0000 UTC]
Is it Vertex_Color_Intensity?
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Lilothestitch In reply to KH40 [2020-05-03 16:12:50 +0000 UTC]
I changed it to 2 but the entire model becomes black.

Lower the intesity by setting it lower than 1
