Description
A week back I had the brilliant idea of trying to recreate the nexus effect in Photoshop. 1 Week later and plenty of trial and error I think I got it. Added in the Ent-B at the angle it was at in the film except it's more of a wider shot.Note self, the Nexus is a B!$%^h to recreate.

Excellent work.
At first I thought this was the first scene from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country when Praxis exploded and sent a shock wave into Excelsior's path. Now, I see it's the Enterprise-B and the Nexus from Star Trek Generations.

nicknamed this ship The Tuesday Machine. He doesn't quite like the way the ship was designed.

I like to see it as more of a mission specific upgrade. For a 5 year mission it may have needed new facilities and support a larger crew. The bolted on bits I kinda think compliment the design somewhat, they don't look massively out of place.Β

Elegant shot sir - and good work on the Nexus ribbon!
Can hear that phrase "ALL ENGINES - FULL REVERSE!!!"

That was running through my head when doing this. It was much harder to find references for the nexus than I thought it would be. Thanks man.

No thank you - this film had its flaws but it had a lot of bits that shone - like this sequence, and good phrases from the Great Captain himself.
"Risk is part of the deal if you want to sit in that chair"
"I'll take care of it" and
"Its done - alright! Let's go!"
and of course...Scotty's "Aye"

I find the same with the Final Frontier, the story and plot were awful but it had some rich character dialogue.
"Please captain, not in front of the Klingons" Classic

Very true, it had an air of drama about it.

Very nice work. Your persistance certainly paid off. You can definitely feel the power in the energy ribbon, bearing down like a harbinger of doom!

Thanks, so many fibre textures and blurring... so, so many. I actually put off doing this idea for quite some time. The ribbon is more or less 2 months of having a go and seeing what I could do.
Overall the nexus can get it's self sucked into a black hole.

Yeah, I know the feeling. Layers upon layers. Forever. But hey, the result is worth it!
