Description The USS Apollo heads to orbital office Gamma 9 Zulu to locate Admiral Jenson who has not answered his hails. In orbit of Kynar 4 a heavily Industrialized area of space Admiral Jenson was Starfleets liaison in the area with several Galactic corporations for contracts of Starships and raw materials.

This picture has quite a few new techniques going for it. I created a high resolution image from various other Google earth images and the moon is a rock texture coloured in. The Grand planet tutorial helped me a lot here, though my poor laptop had difficulty managing an 8000x8000 image .

Nice, you could say pre-refit. Your Apollo looks like an TMP Kelvin, kinda coll actually.

Great work on this one. Was definitely worth to create the high resolution image. And I certainly sympathize with your laptop struggling. Join the club! But it was worth it!

Thanks! I may make any future texture creation be 6000x6000 for the sake of time and efficiency. As long as the Laptop keeps going so do I.

Well, if you consider that your final piece will probably not exceed the 2000px that should be plenty. I usually don't go much higher.

Aye, though the High res nicley keeps the details. Also I noticed though when I spherise a texture there is a ribbing effect on the edges. Any idea how to get rid?

You can't. That's an unfortunate side effect. You can only cut the edges until the rippling is no longer visible.
