Work in progress of my Doom and Dain picture.Panels: Colour->Shading->Detail
I tried out the Lief and Barda one first but I just can't find the right skintones for them, so I gave Doom and Dain a go instead. At least I know they're pale and dark respectively.
Also, if anyone knows of an actual book reference as to either of their eye colours please let me know. I'd hate to get that wrong.

Necks are pretty hard to draw, there's a lot more detail there than you'd think... But of course you know this, your people are awesome!

Yeah that's it. We really should be able to have a 3-way conversation. We don't get notifications for anything but direct replies to our comments. Which makes it hard.

Necks are so weird to draw. You'd think they'd be easy, but no.
And believe me, I'm just as excited working on this thing as you are waiting for it.

Perhaps we should have an actual place to have our conversations rather than just anywhere and everywhere. That way we could just check there to see all the new messages and conversation threads.

For my favourite character it'd have to be a tie between Doom and Jasmine. I like ones with tragic pasts.
And I think I like the Lapis Lazuli personally.

Yeah characters with tragic pasts are always interesting. I like Leif... not cos he's the main character, but because he's got a secluded life that he has no idea about. I love the secrecy that his parents are hiding and I like how he's naive at times but then mature and brave at other times and then kind hearted

As a rule I tend to like stones that aren't clear, like opals and turquiose too. I don't know why, I just like them.

I only like the emerald because green is my favourite colour. And emerald green is my favourite tone of green :heeart: hehehe and the opal does mezmorise me a lot because of it's stunning colours and stuff

I'd read a few of Emily Rodda's other books before Deltora and I noticed that she loves to make you think characters are more important than they really are.

Yeah she knows how to really make you believe all of this amazing stuff and make it so fantasy like and so involving! It's what I love about her writing

I love how she always keeps you guessing until the very last chapter when all the secrets get revealed.

omgosh yes!!! Best part about it all!!! I recently read the key to rondo!! amazing it was! I never suspected anything like that!!! just absolutely amazing. I'm trying to get my hands on the boxset. I found one but it was nearly $60 -___-

The Key to Rondo was awesome! I was so sure Conker and the others were bad guys. The other books are just as brilliant! I couldn't put any of them down!
I think I paid about twenty dollars for each of them separately, so sixty isn't that far off.

Yeah I was certain about that as well! And to figure out that the key was actually the pendant and the artists brush hairs was just absolutely amazing!!! hehehhe I loved how it all twsited and came to an amazing conclusion!

Before Emily Rodda started to write for children she wrote adult mysteries, so I guess secrets and plot twists are her favourite things to write.
