Soft forced flow Examples are from Shiina Karuho-sensei of Kimi ni Todoke.
The Forced flow Queen in general is Nakamura Yoshiki-sensei. She is a master of getting you to read whatever direction she wants you to read. She can make you read straight up, or whatever angle she wants you to. Be sure to check out her work.
For the larger to smaller example... I pulled a random manga. I had a very hard time finding an example... so this may not be the best one.

The Queen to demonstrate the previous is a new mangaka, Ichinose Kaoru (also a good study for how overlap works) in her work Mishounen Produce (which is just gorgeous to look at. In fact this is only her third manga. *.* I wonder if she went to manga college.

Paneling, especially in Shoujo helps communicate emotion. It's not really that complex, it helps you to build tools and think of ways to communicate the emotions you want through art. Which is what I would think would be your aim anyway???

She's a newbie with gorgeous art. I think if she finds the right series she can hit it big. ^_^
