You know that old saying "In space, nobody can hear you scream?"

A really crude summary of everything Mimi's been through up until now.

Summary

Emilia learns that Palgius kidnapped Mimi. Unlike Markus, Emilia has the common sense to tether herself to the real world before spelunking in the mysterious space hole. Unfortunately, Palgius has the common sense to snap the vine connecting her to the real world. RIP, Emilia. Now you're also stuck in Palgius's realm forever. But hey, at least Palgius has an excuse to keep Mimi now. If she starts questioning things, Palgius can just be like 'Oh, there's your mom!' and it will all work out, right? Wrong. Emilia and Mimi are reunited. In a fit of parental anger and possibly reeling from the last encounter with Markus (the book scene, the book scene had a lot of not-so-subtle implications that we already know): Emilia starts going off. On Palgius. That's right folks, flower mom is attempting to mom the legendary. Will it work? Will she manage to fix everything and teach this bugger some manners? No. He just gets annoyed with her and chucks her into a white void. Mimi gets yeeted in there too. Now they're both in a void, which is itself in a hole.

Now, we again need to consider Mimi's perspective here. She still assumes that Palgius is like Puck. If anything, Palgius is somewhat better than Puck because Palgius doesn't take his games too far like Puck does. Palgius has been nothing but a good host since Mimi got here, and so to Mimi, Palgius still isn't a threat. He hasn't done anything to suggest that he wants to hurt Mimi, and Mimi isn't aware that he's closed her only way out. So in Mimi's eyes, Emilia's outburst seems entirely unwarranted. Mimi, therefore, is very mad at her mother. Why would Emilia hurt her friend like that?! Emilia tries to explain that Palgius isn't Mimi's friend, and that he's trying to hurt her. Mimi has been canonically horrible at telling the difference between friend and abuser, and unfortunately, today is no exception. Or is it? Mimi insists that she knows the difference between someone who's trying to hurt her and someone who isn't and that Palgius falls into the latter camp. Even when informed that Palgius is a god, Mimi just shakes that aside. Until proven otherwise, Mimi wants to believe that Palgius is good, and what's more, she wants Emilia to trust in her beliefs. Even if she's wrong. Which is likely, considering her track record and the fact that we just came off a story where she lost her powers because of her incessant desire to believe in others.

Kids will make mistakes. Adults don't exist to stop that. Adults help kids work through those mistakes as they happen. Mimi is basically mirroring Emilia's issues with Markus here. Mimi doesn't want Emilia pulling a Markus and fixing her problems. Mimi wants Emilia to let her try, and maybe fail. Then they can work out what to do together.

It's a cute sentiment, and it's a valid-ish one. Valid enough, in theory, for Emilia to reluctantly give in. She gives Mimi one night. If Palgius doesn't release Mimi in the morning, though, Emilia's going to start somethin'. Mimi agrees, saying that's a good compromise. Well, that and getting grounded for wandering into the magical space portal. Yeah. That's fair.

With their plan set, Mimi calls on Palgius. He grabs her and plops her into his dimension again to talk. Mimi apologizes for Emilia's outburst, though she also scolds Palgius for throwing Emilia into a separate dimension just for worrying. Mimi explains that Emilia said it was okay for them to have their sleepover. Mimi asks Palgius to help her make it the best sleepover ever so that Emilia will see, realize her mistakes, and apologize. Palgius, moved by Mimi's earnest pleas and honesty, happily agrees. He takes Mimi and begins his wonderous sleepover.

    But uh.

    There's a problem.

    Where's Emilia?

Cameos!

My brain literally went "Okay done, time for submiss- Oooooh right I don't own Palgius."

Palgius is so goofy that my brain forgets that he's not one of my chaos gremlins.

Palgius actually belongs to FaelaArts !

We silently wait to see where Palgius has put the parental supervision.
