Markus can harden his limbs and sharpen the spines on his body at will, making him a dangerous close-combat fighter. Getting hit by Markus is like getting hit by a wooden club laced with nails. Not very fun.

Shadow Hunter

Markus was built for hunting at night. By changing the amount of chlorophyll and other pigments in his cells, Markus can blend in with the shadows around him. This ability is somewhat passive, and a careful observer might notice that Markus seems greener during the afternoon and duller in the evenings.

Skills: Surprisingly versatile weapon user. He doesn't like relying on magic and instead focuses on punches, kicks, and whatever he can get his hands on.

History

Markus was born in Bitrary City. Although he liked the friendliness of Bitrary, he was never happy living in an agricultural city. Markus wanted something more. He wanted to see things. His parents were overprotective, though, and tried their best to discourage him from traveling. While it was obvious that they cared for him, Markus couldn't stand their overbearing nature. This all came to a head when he entered his teenage years and decided that enough was enough.

In an act of youthful rebellion, Markus ran away. He cut off all ties with his family and began his own journey. It was eye-opening. He met pokemon from all walks of life. Then his journey led him to the militia and, when the war began, the Resistance. He spent ten years fighting on the front lines and seeing another perspective. He saw atrocities, but he also saw benevolence. The journey changed him from a rebellious youth to a mellow soldier.

After a particularly nasty mission, he decided to leave the Resistance and return home. His journey through Lahngenias had broadened his horizons, but it had also taught him the value of security. When he returned, he was surprised to learn that his parents had left the family farm in his name. It was falling apart at the seams, but he didn't mind. He's lived there ever since.

  Rototiller: Markus slams his foot onto the ground, sending out a small pulse of energy that tills the earth for him. Makes it easier for Grass-types to attack.

  Mega Kick: Markus literally kicks the opponent. Simple, but effective!

  Needle Arm: Self-explanatory, really.

  Sand Attack: Markus chucks sand (or dirt) into the opponent’s eyes.
