-THE ORIGINAL-
Decided to write up about these two at the same time. So "Raccoon" and "Blingbling" as they were originally known, were the two very first baddies in TvTome Adventures, playing a very similar road as their TOME counterparts; being hired goons to work unauthorized construction on the virtual landscape in search of a certain rumored item. Raccoon and Blingbling were not only hackers, but also referred to as "spammers" for their loudmouth and abrasive nature, since they were originally based on users that would often spam and bully people on the TvTome forums. Blingbling hadn't much personality to speak of, outside of being a money-grubber, but Raccoon was a total lunatic...and also very difficult to understand. I wrote his lines in 1337speak, which, when watching a series that has no spoken audio to support it, makes for a struggle when having key information delivered by way of dialogue.
-THE NEW-
This time around, I kept the same basic idea of these two characters' but gave them a serious upgrade in terms of comedy and flare, especially in thanks to the dynamic acting duo of Deven Mack Jr. and Eddie Bosco. "Rockoon" was not written at first to be a little crazy black guy, but was asked by D-Mac (who for the record, IS African American) in order to help add some dimension to the little psycho...and BOY did it. D-Mac really went over the top with him, adding so many layers to his antics that have already made the character a big favorite among the viewers. "Doubling" was written as the straight man to Rockoon's crazy...man. I imagined Rockoon as a young kid (younger than Alpha and company) who just happens to be very good with computers but really lets himself go when playing his favorite games. At the same time, his upbringing prevents him from dropping any major curse words and therefore resorts to stuff like "motherscratcher". On the opposite side of things, Doubling makes no bones about being a foul-mouthed asshat with a dry sense of wit and a hint of sniveling cowardice. The two made for a great pair of villains to start things off with and Alpha really showed 'em what for...although I have a feeling we'll be seeing them again.

I just noticed this; Morphing Slime sounds similar to the common Power Rangers phrase "(Its) Morphin' Time!" Is this a coincidence or intentional?

wait...he was originally called "blingbling" and know he's called "Doubling"
...double...bling...blingbling.
GENIUS.

Is Doubling dead in this one too, just like Nate?

In TOME, he just quit playing after encountering Alpha. He was smart enough not to get involved in something that can genuinely hurt him.

Bit of spoilers (not too major), but Doubling logged back in as a user known as Skheight, a British or Australian skater who plays similar as Rockoon useing skateboard-like attacks and bombs like Rockoon. My guess is that Rockoon probably needed his help, so he disguised himself as a player who wants to join the hacker group D-Buggers.org.

Rockoon and Doubling make for a great Abbot & Costello-esque duo. Their personalities are so different and polarized that they bounce off each other for instant humor. Doubling's personality really fits him. Apathetic and lazy. Even in fights, one could say, as he normally just uses Slime Wall and let's Rockoon do most of the damage.

seeing the new version of these two was pretty neat, makes me wonder how you're going to do the other villains, especially splat, since in her original incarnation the slime didn't meld that well with her body, now that you're not limited by recoloring sprites I'm hoping that they'll mesh better.

This is interesting: Doubling flees instead of 'being traumatized by Virus Alpha and harboring some sort of odd resentment/rivalry towards GC'. This might make an interesting change in the story when his sister (Splat I think?) shows up later.
I like his change too. Just a foul mouthed hired money man (sorta like Torben) with a cleverly thought up name that still sounds like his old one... as well as something akin to his character avatar and powers. I think we might see Rockoon sooner than Doubling, considering he was willing to drop out being paid to flee from (Kajet) Alpha. Of course if he was given a down-payment with a promise of triple the amount later, that might be a different story.

Doubling kinda sounds like "Da Bling!" Its a better name than Blingbling. Kinda weird he was called "Blingbling" back then, especially since he was slimy and had no bling to speak of.
Now I'm wondering who the second episode villian will be.

Hardcore fans will know who the next bad guy is right from the start of the episode. ;]

I'm not gonna assume you're gonna do the same thing this time around like on TTA. For instance, Nylocke appears in the first episode of TOME, yet Nailock debuts in episode 4 of TTA.
Back in TTA, the next bad guy was Demon King. I'm not assuming he's gonna be in episode 2 of TOME. For all I know you'll probably throw us a curveball and have Ravenfreak, Neomutant, or some new guy instead.
Whoever they are, I look forward to it.

Cricket cricket...helloooo...anybody here? Well, good job I've got something to save the day with.
YANNO
I'm happy with seeing Alpha and Kirbopher and Flamegirl and GameCrazed and YE GARGANTUAN PUTZ NYLOCKE back in the place, but seeing this dude and Rockoon, as he's known now? If you were around for TTA, you KNEW it was back as TOME.
Gotta ask though. It's a far better name than "Blingbling", but why "Doubling", I wonder?
