Number two down already, woot~ I've been working hard these last days because seriously, I thought I was busy before, but lo and behold shit's gonna get worse, hooray...ΒLittle lady Silverstream looks, at least according to myself, rather like her canon self - I've always seen her as the sleekest, prettiest shorthaired lady, so sorry to those of you who was expecting a fluffball here. ^^ Her genetics are... not the trickiEST, but still I've had to tread carefully. Like I've before mentioned, the silver gene is beyond tricky - while some parts of it is easy enough to understand, it's a bit confuddling nonetheless; so please don't assume this is automatically correct just because I use it. I know the gist of it, but it'll take a while yet I believe before I have a full grasp on the gene.Β
Either how, Silverstream inherits the silver from her mother, whose description is almost completely the same as her own - and I gave her the classic tabby gene because honestly that's the only sort of tabby she ever was in my eyes; and finally, as for her GENETICALLY IMPOSSIBLE BLUE EYES (the Erins' love of silver/grey cats with blue eyes seems unstoppable...) I just gave her papa Crooked's green eyes instead. Doesn't she look adorable with 'em? ;3; For the breed itself, you might be surprised, but she's an Australian Mist. Whut, you say, but hey it's a lovely little breed, and I've established it in Windclan already so it sorta hints to her half-clan heritage~
A last word on the chara herself... I liked Silverstream, I did. She was sweet, spunky, obviously Riverclan's little spoiled princess, and overall her obstinacy was adorable to me~ That and she's "first series", which already adds a star to her haha. xD

I was looking at this beautiful girl and notied she and Willowbreeze are both silver. I'm pretty sure silver is dominate over all other patterns, so does this mean Reedfeather or Fallowtail will be silver now? Sorry for the bombardment of genetic questions recetly.

Indeed you're correct, excepting a few rare recessive silver mutations, silver is dominant over all colours. So yes you're right, it does mean one of Willowbreeze's parents will be silver - and the lucky one will be Reedfeather, whose design more easily meshes with silver compared to Fallowtail, who has no other silver relations. And no worries, I like getting genetics questions, it keeps my mind fresh too haha.

OMG SILVERRR <3 I didn't even know she was on your list to be drawn, Anne!!! I love that all you had to do was change her eyes, bc I really can't imagine her as anything except the whole silver-gray tabby (probably her name that keeps getting me.)
I must admit that I really love Silverstream, personality wise >u< Like you said, she was the spoiled princess of RiverClan, but it wasn't too over the top or overdone for me, although that part might be bc she didn't live long enough to get annoying //frowns// Anyway, another thing you've mentioned is that unlike other cats in forbidden relationships, she didn't angst over it. She knew what she wanted and goddamnit, she wanted Graystripe, so that's who she got :'D I admit that some of my fondness comes from the fact that it was the first "forbidden" relationship, and so it was new and fresh at the time. After her and Graystripe, I wanted to stab myself in the eye with a fork whenever forbidden relationships popped up ;w;

I like Silverstream, too. <3 She didn't piss me off nearly as much as Graystripe did; of the two of them, she was certainly the more, er, mature one. She didn't look at her relationship blindly as perfect like her mate did. No, the few times she spoke to Fireheart, it was obvious that she knew she was treading on rather thin ice with her relationship and was concerned about the issues that arose with it and how the relationship would survive. I liked that a lot.
Silver tabbies are tricky, but Silver is like super easy to make into a purebred, thanks to practically being a carbon copy of her mama AND having WindClan blood to give her more breed possibilities. Other than the blue eyes, the Erins got it right for once. xD

Bahahaha, good point indeed. But you're right; Silverstream saved herself by having actual insight into clan dynamics on top of her stubborness.
And there you just summed it right up, yes that is exactly why she was so easy to begin with, something that really saved me hecka lot of time. xD Congrats Erins~

It was certainly nice. Graystripe was being a dipshit about it, but the books made sure to point out how unsure Silverstream was about the whole thing -- not about her love for Graystripe, of course, but rather how well their situation would go. I came to like her for that. She was level-headed and did seem to harbor some guilt over what it was doing to those around her (which was then washed away by the ending comic of Crookedstar's Promise... sigh).
Now if they can just do that more often... *looks at LionxCinder babies and sighs*

Yes, precisely; even if she was the clan's spoiled little princess, she had the ability of reflection and actually seeing beyond her own nose tip. Wtf Greystripe was doing, I dunno - I mean seriously he was just throwing tantrums all over the place because he was horny or whatever... also, that comic in CP was just, ughhhh. That was just a show of spoiled obnoxiousness, nothing else. -.-

Exactly. I mean, she wasn't perfect, but she had sense at least. Which is more than can be said for a lot of Warriors characters. xD I wish more forbidden relationships had her sensibility (though not her "sense of responsibility" of which she had none; like Graystripe, she was willing to skive off her duties to her Clan because fuck it this is true love). Silverstream is a nice cat. I have kind of see her and Brindleface as Spottedleaf's replacement. Because their personality is similar to Spottedleaf and I've always had a respect for both Silver and Brindle. Why am I looking for a replacement for Spottedleaf? Because I am a fan of hers. She really attracted me. I'm still very sad that she has vanished forever. I mean why do people hate her? IF SHE HADN'T RECEIVED THE FIRE PROPHECY FROM STARCLAN, WARRIOR CATS WOULD SIMPLY NOT EXIST!!!

I can't say I was too fond of Millie. Β She started out as an interesting character who was fun to follow, but as time went on she kind of got a tad... meh. P: Β It didn't help that she slowly went from a nice light brown tabby with adorable amber eyes to a complete Silverstream clone, gray fur/blue eyes and all. Β That was a change I found somewhat unnecessary. Β Might as well plaster on a Silverstream #2 sticker on her forehead |D

Yeah, she became one big let-down as the series progresssed, and like you said, turned into her clone basically overnight too which was 'kinda' creepy on Greystripe's behalf, honestly... xD

Gosh, she looks wonderful! I must admit, I do have a soft spot for Silverstream, and I wish she hadn't died...
One thing has been confusing me, though, as my knowledge of cat genetics is becoming a little rusty (no pun intended): why can't she have blue eyes? If I ever knew, I've completely forgotten.

Well, thing is blue eyes can only happen if there's white fur involved (and then usually it has to stretch onto areas surrounding the eyes) or by some sudden mutation which 'turns off' the colour of the eye any other way. Blue eyes are truly eyes where the main iris has no colour, and the blue is the layer on top which instead shines through.

Ah, yes, that does seem to ring a bell. Yes, that makes sense actually. Honestly, the Erins use blue eyes for so many cats, it's quite incredible! And considering at least two of them have cats, that's downright worrying! xD
And whilst we're on the topic of blue eyes, it also astounds me that we only had one blue-eyed white cat who was deaf, and poor Snowkit died as a kit. I mean, let me think... There's Cloudtail, Snowfur, Icecloud, Frostfur... All white, all with blue eyes, and none of them deaf, despite the high probability of white cats with blue eyes being deaf. That is one thing that always annoys me.

Yeah, at least give us one more deaf cat so the storyline involving Snowkit could've gotten an alternative or something. Imagine Icecloud had been born deaf, Brackenfur would've been obstinate about being her mentor considering what happened last time, and it would've given him closure perhaps. And just exploring the storyline with a kitten surviving despite being deaf, when we have Jayjay prancing around blinder than a newborn... -.-

That would have made for an interesting, new storyline. Their best storylines were the ones where they were original! SilverxGrey was the best forbidden romance, because it was completely new at the time. Then they started running out of ideas but made the series drag on and on...

See, forbidden romances were good at first (well, no, only GreyxSilver was really interesting, to be honest) and the fight with BloodClan was fine, and the journey to the lake was pretty cool (in fact, I think the second arc is my favourite partly because it involved cats of all Clans, not just ThunderClan - I mean, that was very biased, that ThunderClan were always the heroes)... But then... It got old. The powers were downright ridiculous in the setting of Warriors, and that whole thing with the Dark Forest? Meh.

One should think they'd research a bit; and besides that, almost every household on the planet has dealt with kittens once or twice, you just know stuff like that. xD
Yep, totally. They could've easily skipped the third and fourth series because the plot holes were bigger than black holes, and there was no sense of... anything originally warrior-ish either. And those powers were just; we were never told why they had them because as far as I saw the only cats who made a difference when it came down to preparing for that "big-ass battle" (which was epically -lame-) were Ivypool and Firestar.Β
And the whole time traveling and the visits to the tribe and all... nothing happened it was just so booring.Β
