Hmm I tend to use clipping masks on stead of a layer mask. Just filling lineart with base colors and then clip mask the shadows and highlights
This would be a bit faster I think

I'm curious. Does this apply to other layers of the picture?

If the layers aren't in the folder itself than no.

I like the idea of creating a mask on the folder, never heard that one before... I'm going to use that system. You know I love me masks and this makes it easier to use.
Thanks!

Haha yeah i found out recently that you could put the alpha on folders, which was the discovery of the year for me~ saves a hell lot of time

The way I do this is make selections like you do but save em on layers, then I lock layer pixels, similar effect.

What can masking do again? I heard it once but I need to hear it again for a memory check.

Masking basically hides (but doesn't erase) anything on your composition~

No, it's just that I heard of it once and I kinda forgotten about it for a while.

Very insightful, particularly the selection contrast part. Eliminating white spots and doing clean up was always a hassle for me so this should be a great help! Thanks, dude!
