You shouldn't trace images unless the images belong to you, or that the original owner of said image has specifically allowed you to trace over it.

Everybody seems to be complaining about tracing, but I don't get the big deal if one uses stock photos... I mean, seriously, maybe it's not as hard as painting a masterpiece, but it's a lot harder than shooting a random photo... and if these ugly, ugly photomanips are allowed, why not tracing? I really, really don't understand why there is so much drama around- besides from the point that of course it should never be allowed to use someone's property without their permission.

I've tried out your tutorial. It's still a work in progress because I don't have a lot of consecutive time to work on art, but here's my first effort. Tell me what you think. [link]

I think I'd like to try this, just to see what happens. I like the straight forward language. Very easy to follow.

Have you seen the film "Aking Life"? that has some nice rotoscoping in it. Very nice, I like how you trace but you put your own idea and personality into it

Thanks! :3
And, yeah, I have. Pretty good movie. Makes it feel like a dream. I like how the rotoscoping changes continually, and you can barely follow it.

KyraKitty In reply to o-x-o---Nika---o-x-o [2004-07-09 15:25:00 +0000 UTC]
Well, it's like advanced tracing. I'm still tracing the things, so, yeah, it's still a form of tracing.

true you may be tracing HOWEVER the term tracing usualy means traditionaly on a piece of paper and since this is digital tracing yeah thats it... maybe you should call it DIGITAL TRACING....just so as not to confuse....does that work?

KyraKitty In reply to o-x-o---Nika---o-x-o [2004-07-09 18:22:45 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, but I'm lazy, and it's just a silly little title. I mean, if you read the tutorial, you'll see exactly what it is anyways.
