Did you sew the head together by hand, or with a sewing machine? If by hand, what kind of stitch did you use? I'm having trouble keeping my head together, so to speak.

Its all by hand. and its just a normal basic stitch. (sorry I dont know the name of it. I basicly learned to sew by myself on some points.)

Okay. I don't know the names of stitches either, so don't worry about it. Thanks so much!

Is it a good idea to put hair and stuff on the head before or after you stuff it?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kohane-hime In reply to Postaff [2013-12-01 13:56:58 +0000 UTC]

Its really better to do it after you stuff it. especially for the hairs.Β

the shape extend and change a bit once it stuffed and sewed back togheter.Β

It would be better to add the hair and eyes and facial feature after the stuffing.

You have a pattern for the size of the head?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

Kohane-hime In reply to Splashez [2012-02-21 17:35:23 +0000 UTC]

Yes, It's a simple "petal" form made of paper so that every parts are the same size. I can upload it later if you want.

Ok! Went back over this! Hope this helps! Just suggestion!

1)For this kind of doll, you will need the following material-felt, buttons, thread, scissors, glue gun, needle, etc….

3)We want to make a pretty head for our doll, so we will need to cut four ovals.

4)To streamline the process, I put two felt sheets together, cutting them at the same time.

5)Cut carefully! If your pattern is off, it will make things more difficult later on.

7)Now that we have 4 parts, we can start putting the pieces together. Time for your needle!

8) Take two parts and tie them together on the top. Keep the thread off to the side to sew it up.

17) Stuff it until the head is firm. You can always check with other dolls to confirm if it dense enough.

18) To close up your head, sew it in a X shape. This is the hardest part so take your time to make it neat.

Spelling wise-
'togheter' is spelled 'together'. 'Cheep' is what baby birds say. You want this kind of 'cheap'.

OMG THANKS!!

And I feel a little stupid for the "cheap" and "together" words.^^'

STILL, THANKS A LOT!!! What would I do if you weren’t there!XD

Welcomes!!!

I know how to make a head now!!! Imaginary cookies for everyone!!!

English grammar and vocabulary in understandable, the placement of phrases if mildly off.
Example-"Sew not too much on the side or in the middle." would sound better as "Do not sew too much on the side or in the middle."....but either works. ^^'
I can return the favor for all your help.....if you want....I would be more than happy to help you with wording/phrasing.
