It was time for some more practice with coloring, this time with some new techniques. Granted, when you have as little practice with Photoshop as I do, it's not hard to find new techniques. I decided to stick with the power armor work that I've been trying out recently, but not with a Space Marine this time - with Calderra Freemont, our Rogue Trader Arch Militant (originally sketched out here: [link] )As promised, Calderra's scar continues to shift sides every time I draw her. That's consistency I could do without. I also added the House Niccolias crest to her power armor, since I'm sure that it will be her sponsor paying for (and maintaining, when she inevitably bangs it up) the armor in the first place.
I'm pretty happy with these results - I need to try some more coloring this weekend, but I've got some other stuff to do first. I may need to adjust the tone a bit once I see it on a different screen, but it looks fine on this monitor...

Thanks - it's not true Astartes (or Custodes) armor. It's just the crest of the noble family that integrates their old title of Custodes Terra.

This one of the very few pictures I found with a female wearing space marine power armor and still looks good and hot in the realistic way. If you pit her in a different pose with relic armor with her having a power sword would be complete badass.Would you mind taking or asking a request? I'll understand if you don't want to. I know It's a pain in the a to get good stuff like this.

I am really hoping to draw her in a more 'actiony' pose soon. As far as requests go, sure I'm happy to try something out for you - just be warned that my current work schedule could mean that I might take a little time to take a crack at it.

for your character, I think it be badass if you drew her from the side, running or charging towards those stupid Orks with her shooting her bolter or shooting a bolt pistol in her right hand and having a powersword/chain sword in her left. As she charging those stupid Orks an artillary shell or a grendae hits near position rendering an explosion near her. you can see the explosion and dirt flies towards her. That be badass and epic to me
My resquest is prob going to be difficult. Am asking you to draw Laclairia, a Ultra Hawk Dixa Primarch battle sister.There basically like female space marines but there called Primarches due to them only having 6. Her pose will just her standing. She had her left hand on her golden relic powersword.
anyway ill start with the head. She has long light brown hair. Her hair goes down halfway down her back while in the front is short. She wearing a blessed black band around her head. You can barly see it though in the front since it's mostly covered by her hair.
Now her armor is Relic power armor which means it's very decorated.Her armor is silver. Her armor has a very ancient knight/paladin look to it. It has knight looking poulderns. On the chest, she has the ultra hakws logo in the middle of her armor which is basically the ultramarines logo with a head of black hawk(which is my profile picture but simple)in the middle. Now two on the chest, two black blessed bands going digatal or going from the right pouldren to the bottom of her left waist disappearing under belt. She also has a grey cape with a few black stripes which is long enough to hit the ground. The armor still looks warhammer 40K enough
At the waist, she wears a golden ultitly belt that help holds a robe. You can't see her legs because it's hidden by the grey robe.Her feet are normal.
At last, on her waist on the left side, her relic power sword will be there shedded with her hand on it. On her right side of the waist will be her bolt pistol.
That the end of it.I know long right? lol If you think by adding something be better then I say go ahead, your the artist agter all..lol you can add stuff like purity seals and other crap if you feel it make it better.
I know this alot and may be very difficult to draw. Am sorry for that. They are very important to me and the Ultra Hawks. I actually use them in the tabletop game as HQ's. If you got questions, hit me up I don't bite....much lol

Consistency? What is this consistency you speak of? Hehe. Man, markings, scars, tattoos. I am terrible about keeping them in the same location. x)

I'm usually pretty fair at the consistency really - I think I just chose a design for her that makes me always want the scar placed where it suits her. It looked really odd to me when it was in the 'right' place originally. I definitely like this version better.

Lucky you..I don't think I put more than half an hour in a day and god knows how many intervals I take..With the exams clamping down on me, I haven't painted for days!

Thanks..Yeah, I got a motherload double-decker exam on Friday and then I'm free. I'll be sure to let you know once I finish it. I've done the skin and hair but got stuck on the jacket.
